CSR FORUM 2015
AGENDA OF THE DAY
Opening remarksDejan Turk,
President of the Responsible Business Forum and CEO, Vip mobile
Events like this show us that companies are
willing to get involved in solving key social
problems and I am very proud that our network is
ready to give its active contribution.
CSR Forum is a great opportunity to evaluate the
year behind us and, hopefully, inspire the actions
in the future. I believe there are many reasons to
be proud of what we achieved so far.
This year in particular, our conference is about
the values that we all together share -
as a national partner for Serbia, we will support
the objectives defined in the European CSR
Manifesto, award best CSR practices in Serbia,
meet great partners from civil society, initiate
discussion and exchange experience...
Renewing efforts to promote CSR is particularly
important today at a time when the global economic
crisis and its social consequences have to some extent
eroded the level of trust in business. Having said that,
it is encouraging that there is a strong and devoted CSR
community in Serbia that despite the common obstacles
and unsupportive environment, still achieves excellent
results in practicing corporate social responsibility.
But CSR movement needs to grow and include more
companies, and not only the large ones, but also
medium and small enterprises.
We gathered here today - to celebrate partnerships and
good practices, to inspire and motivate, create new
collaboration opportunities and to highlight the
importance of changes that need to be conducted in
achieving sustainable growth.
Opening remarksLaura Pavlović,
Director, Office of Democratic and Economic Growth, USAID Serbia

Presentation: CSR Managers Survey 2015 in Central Europe
- How CSR has influenced Central European
societies and economiesJakub Michalowski,
Deloitte Sustainability Consulting Central Europe
CSR managers from Central Europe are confident (84 %)
that business has helped to solve social and economic
problems in their particular countries. Despite this high
level of confidence, only half (54%) of CE CSR managers
measure the effectiveness of their initiatives through the
use of media monitoring (52%) their own CSR metrics
(37%) or opinion polls (34%).
An overwhelming majority of experts from Central Europe
predict the development of CSR in the coming years
(76%). This conviction may result from a greater faith in
business’ driving force than in the possibilities of the
state administration, which according to 52% of
respondents from Central Europe should do more to
promote responsible business.

Company leaders in Sebia believe that the biggest
influence on shaping CSR strategy in the next three
years will come from customers and employees. 92% of
interviewed directors consider that integration of CSR
strategy brings better position to the company in
negotiating with investors, creditors and future
partners. In the coming three years, focus of leading
companies in Serbia will be, in the first place, on topics
concerning their employees – employee engagement and
improvements in the workplace.
The largest number of respondents believes that the
state should encourage business in accordance with the
principles of social responsibility through tax
incentives.

This project includes 75 Roma healthcare mediators in 59 cities and
municipalities across Serbia. So far, a total of 140,408 Roma individuals
living in slums have been registered, out of which 50,754 are children and
46,453 women. The mediators facilitated the selection of a pediatrician
for each child, as well as higher inclusion of pregnant women in prenatal
and postnatal healthcare. They are also to be thanked for securing
healthcare cards and personal identification documents for the Roma
people.
The project of healthcare mediators was launched in 2008 by the Ministry
of Health. UNICEF and Telenor joined in on the project in order to help
establish a system of recording and monitoring the health status of the
Roma children and families, as well as of service provision in the local
communities. Within this project, thanks to Telenor services, expertise,
equipment and mobile Internet, health mediators – 75 of them – have
succeeded in connecting the Roma with various institutions and helping
them learn how to exercise their civil rights.Back to

Presentation: CSR Index Serbia
– New platform for CSR rankingMila Dimitrijević, EY
CSR Index Serbia is a tool aimed at recognizing, awarding and promoting good business
practices in Serbia, in line with sustainability principles.
Indexing represents an opportunity for companies to be listed on the first National list of
socially responsible companies, get a comprehensive report on the state of CSR in their
company and contribute to the creation of the first national statistics which indicates the
relation between CSR and economic performance.
The first cycle of indexing will be opened for companies starting March 2016. More at:

Presentation: Cause Related Marketing
– Building lasting partnerships Milica Marković, Direct media
„In front of the companies are great challenges
to ensure reach to the consumers, primarily
through the credibility of the partner
organizations with which they are starting CRM
project, and then with the transparency of CRM
campaigns.
Some researches have shown that CRM campaigns
that are lasting longer have a greater effect
because it gives more space and time for
consumers to connect with the campaign.
Investment in CSR through CRM campaigns brings
also a long-term impact on company’s
reputation.“Back to

Sustainability reporing Tijana Koprivica, Delta Holding
"Although it is complicated, reporting provides us
with numerous advantages. It provides transparency
that is highly valued by our stakeholders. It gives us
an insight into their expectations which, combined
with other non-financial business information help
us to better assess our risks and opportunities. It
helps us to see the impact of the non-financial
indicators to the financial results and to observe the
critical point at which it can be further improved in
terms of cost savings or working processes’
improvements.
GRI methodology is applied by a large number of
international companies which allows us to compare
their good practices and monitoring our progress
from year to year.“

One of the most important issues for the growth and
development of any economy is linked to the issue of
employability, especially among young people. In Serbia, the
unemployment rate among young people aged 15-24 years is
47%. At the same time frightening is the fact that 72% of young
people in these categories are not in the education system, nor
employed.
Young people deserve a chance, a chance to acquire new skills
and knowledge in society and economy which is rapidly
changing and where jobs that some of them will work for 10
years, today still do not exist.
Business must and can play a great role in that. For this reason,
we support this objective and strongly believe that business can
contribute to the solution of the issue.

One of the goals set by Manifesto refers to
putting transparency and respect for
human rights at the heart of business
conduct.
How should this be done?
Through pushing for superior reporting,
stakeholder engagement and integrated
thinking in boards, improved management
systems and integrated management of
the value chain.

Transparency and respect for human rights
Marinos Vathis, Vice-President of the RBF and President of the Executive Board, Vojvodjanska Bank
Corporate social responsibility is an
important factor for strengthening the
competitiveness and sustainability of
European companies. These companies are
increasingly aware of their influence and
more actively respond to the needs of their
community.
The European Union does not intend to
impose standards in the field of CSR, but I
believe that this way of doing business will
become natural as the time passes by.
Practicing CSR is not easy in this period of
economic crisis, but we have to think about
long-term goals such as economic growth and
new jobs.

Stefan Crets,
Executive director, CSR Europe
The Manifesto was developed by a CSR movement brought together by CSR Europe,
that includes more than 40 of our National Partner Organisations and over 10,000
companies across Europe.
Our goal is to make Europe a better place for business, a better place to work and
most importantly, a better place to live. There is no time to lose, we have to work
as soon as possible. This is the right moment to start.

An emergency situation can
happen anytime and anywhere.
It is necessary that companies within
their business strategies define
procedures on their emergency
response - company needs to define
to whom will it direct support, what
kind of support it is, with which
organizations and government
institutions will it cooperate with.
This will also allow state institutions
to have a better insight on what
kind of support they can rely on.

In a turbulent environment,
it is difficult to survive, but
no company is so small and so
insignificant that it cannot be
socially responsible.
Small enterprises are also
active in this field and they
often contribute significantly
to their local communites, or
provide good working
conditions for their
employees above law
reguirements,... They just
may not call it CSR.

Our Participants
This action – in which the participants of the
CSR Forum took photos with boards written
with their New Year's decisions, that will be
useful both to them personally and the
community in which we live as well –
continued by inviting citizens to join on two
locations in Belgrade: Square in front of
Zvezdara Municipality building and Delta
City.
The action is inspired by the global
Sustainable Development Goals, adopted by
the United Nations this September,
reminding us that all of us, in the
communities in which we live and work, can
and must take responsibility both for
personal development and the society in
which we are. More at our facebook page.
