THE CUSTOMER
THE CHALLENGE
Our customer is a major research and teaching hospital located in England. It also boasts the largest emergency department of its kind in the UK.
In the absence of a coherent platform to make vital information available to all stakeholders on demand, the customer could not provide the kind of user experience that they were looking for.
They needed an efficient way to improve processes and deliver patient-centered care online through the use of a powerful content management system. In other words, they wanted a solution that would provide users access to a plethora of information, all in one place, without them having to go and search various repositories.
Their existing solution based on proprietary legacy technology was unfit for the purpose. More specifically, these were some of the challenges that they were grappling with:
No single source of validated information available for their healthcare professionals.
The entire process of health check and follow-ups was time consuming. It lacked a focus on patient-centricity.
Patients did not have any option to access and manage their health check results.
Patients did not have the means to actively monitor their therapies and responses.
No efficient way for a patient to reach out to a health care professional for any kind of interaction.
Aspire provided a flexible technology platform that had the WCM capabilities needed to meet the customer’s immediate requirements, as well as the scalability necessary to allow room for future enhancements.
THE SOLUTION
By providing streamlined
access to patient
information, along with an
enhanced experience for
both physicians and

platform would
significantly improve
productivity for the
physician community and
allow them to go above

Developed a web application with a user friendly and intuitive interface for patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). It provided a modern look and enhanced functionality with users at the center of the experience.
Developed the product as a generic component so that it can be easily replicated to extend similar functionalities with minimum effort in terms of future scalability.
Created a patient centered process for active engagement of patients. Site visitors are now able to easily access and track their therapies and responses leading to better management of their health check results.
Implemented a feature to enable the consultants and practitioners to get real-time insights on any developments related to therapies and responses (for instance, blood test results) in the form of timely alerts and notifications.
The application also maintained a process for handling questionnaires to be completed by patients from time to time and sending alerts in exceptional situations.
Our scope of engagement included the following initiatives:
WCM
SQL Server
