Pairing wine with an Asian meal is not about how to best complement or enhance a particular dish, but rather how to enhance a rich and multi-faceted dining experience, comprised of many different dishes each with many different taste profiles, none of which fall into traditional western taste profiles.

The ultimate goal for modern Asian food and wine pairing should be harmony. A wine should not alter the integrity of the flavors in a meal, and it should also pair well with the majority of dishes.

Chardonnay is a very versatile white wine that works well with most Asian flavors. Its fruity, sweet character is a refreshing complement to salty and soul foods.

When Sarah Heller, Master of Wine and Lucaris

Crystal set out on a journey to create a new glassware

range, we quickly realised that preferences in

wine were highly personal.  What is perfect for

one person, situation or meal may not be so

for another.  Wine is also inherently complex,

therefore trying to match each glass to each

wine created more confusion than harmony.  

In our research, we realised that cultures

across the Eurasian continent have long had

simple, intuitive systems for understanding

personality, body and the natural world based

on the elements.  Thus, we have used a system

of elements (Fire, Water, Earth, Air and Gold)

to simplify matching wines to the person,

situation or meal and have produced The

Elements collection.

I N S P I R AT I O N

Drawing inspiration from Traditional Chinese Medicine and Astrology, Ayurveda as well as Western

conceptions of the elements, we designed glass shapes that would bring out that “element” in any wine

style.  Each glass is multi-purpose and can be used for red, white, rosé and even sparkling wines.

CARE RECOMMENDATIONSCLEANING INSTRUCTIONSFOR DISHWASHER

1. Wash with warm water. Detergent and glass cleaner should not be used.

2. Leave glasses to drain for a while on a linen towel.

3. Steam glasses over boiling water for superior shine.

4. Use 2 micro-fiber crystal towels for polishing. Hold glass by base to polish the base.

7. Avoid breathing on the glass throughout the cleaning process.

8. Enjoy superb results!

5. Use left hand to cradle the bowl and polish it with your right hand. Never twist the base and bowl as this could lead to breakage

6. Your hands must always be clean. Keep paper towels within easy reach to encourage cleaning them.

Lucaris Crystal Stemware & Barware are commercial dishwasher safe. Proper cleaning and handling will ensure long lasting brilliance, clarity and enhanced natural beverage flavors.

It is always best to put similar-sized glasses together. This will improve stability and prevent abrasion among glasses, thus preventing breakage.

Throughly wipe-off residues like lipstick stains, before placing in the dishwasher.

Place glasses in the top rack.

Each rack should be distanced properly according to the height and width of the glasses. This will ensure stability during washing.

We recommend choosing a cycle with minimal heat and “glass friendly” dishwasher to wash the glasses.

Once the cycle has completed fully, open the door to allow the steam to escape and let the glasses cool naturally.

We recommend polishing glasses after removing from the dishwasher to eliminate unwanted water spots. Glasses should still be slightly damp for best results.
