CRYs Vote forChild Rights Campaign
I have always believed that no matter how seemingly insurmountable the
obstacles, they can be overcome through the power of collective action
- Rippan Kapur, CRY Founder, 1954-1994

Before every election, politicians debate key issues that the country is concerned about -
inflation, corruption, foreign investment and so on. But there's one issue that both
citizens and politicians should take equally seriously, but often don't - the issue of
children's rights. Children constitute one-third of our countrys population and yet, even
today, millions of Indian children are denied their fundamental rights such as the rights
to education, healthcare and safety on a daily basis.
Ahead of the 16th Lok Sabha Elections 2014, CRY-Child Rights and You launched the
Vote for Child Rights Election Advocacy Campaign to make children a national priority.
The nation-wide campaign sensitised citizens on the status of children in India and
urged them to vote for child rights and wear the yellow ChildMark as a symbol of their
commitment towards ensuring lasting change for all of Indias children.
People from all walks of life joined us in our efforts and we collected over 1.4 million
pledges thus ensuring a vote bank big enough for our leaders to hear that we, the
people, demand that the nation puts children first.
