ABOUT THE VILLAGE Name – Kondevadi. Date – 29.12.2012.

kondevadi gaon is a place with 700 people in it &1500 people in small villages near Kondevadi. Kondevadi village is a small place where the main staple crop grown is Wheat. The sarpanch of this village is Vashwant Thobre whom we visited at his office in the Gram panchayat office which is located near the rickshaw stand of the village.

School - There is one Zilla Parishad school till 7th std and 149 students study in it. There is no school for students who want to complete their SSC and no college facility within the village. If the students want to study further they have to come karjat or khanpe for SSC and college. We also visited Mundewadi which is a 20 minuts walk from kondevadi

Transportation – is a tough thing to do in this village as there is no ST bus facility for commutation the only means of transport is auto rickshaw which is on sharing basis.

Electricity - Electricity supply is not that smooth, one often experiences a cut in the supply and this is one more reason that takes this village a step behind from progress.

Business - For business purposes or for buying things the main market is located in Shukrawaarpeth where all can buy the basic items..

All the stock mainly comes from Karjat which is the most nearby town it’s the main market for the villagers to shop , for everything (ie) from day to day products to clothes & electronics.

the shopkeepers don’t keep heap stock because the demand is not high so the villagers purchase minimum quantity and carry out their business on small scale .

To get the products of P&G a company representative comes directly from the company to the shops in the village and takes the order and later deliverers the goods in the same way but to buy the products of any other company the shopkeepers has to go to karjat any buy their stock then come in the village and sell.P&G is the only company that has not only penetrated in the village but has a good market share in the village. The reason being it has direct contact with the shopkeepers in the village.

If I sit back to think and see what we as a group has seen and felt I first would want to thank my teacher who gave us this opportunity to do this project which was nothing less than an eye opener .

I want to add here that I have seen two India's.

There are two India's - Bharat which exists in the villages and India which thrives in the urban areas. If our country has to have real progress and make its mark on the global stage, then these two India's must converge.

The keys for development of rural India areAgricultureTechnology AdoptionFinancial InclusionEducation & HealthBeing Accessible &Developing our Skills

I believe all this put together would over time help build an ecosystem that can harness the real power of rural India.
