    ABSTRACT

The proposed system applies to all Police stations across the country and

specifcally looks into the subject o Crime Records Management. It is well

understood that Crime Preention! "etection and Coniction o criminals

depend on a highly responsie backbone o Inormation Management. The

e#ciency o the police unction and the e$ectieness with which it tackles

crime depend on what %uality o inormation it can derie rom its e&isting

records and how ast it can hae access to it.

It is proposed to centrali'e Inormation Management in Crime or the

purposes o ast and e#cient sharing o critical inormation across all Police

(tations across the territory. Initially! the system will be implemented across

Cities and Towns and later on! be interlinked so that a Police detectie can

access inormation across all records in the state thus helping speedy and

successul completion to cases. The (ystem would also be used to generate

inormation or pro)actie and preentie measures or fghting crime.

The project has been planned to be haing the iew o distributed

architecture! with centrali'ed storage o the database. The application or the

storage o the data has been planned. *sing the constructs o (+, serer and

all the user interaces hae been designed using the "-T et technologies.

The standards o security and data protectie mechanism hae been gien a

big choice or proper usage. The application takes care o di$erent modules

and their associated reports! which are produced as per the applicable

strategies and standards that are put orwarded by the administratie sta$.

    Introduction

    1.1. Introduction to Project

    Overview

The entire project has been deeloped keeping in iew o the distributed

client serer computing technology! in mind. The specifcations hae been

normali'ed up to /0 to eliminate all the anomalies that may arise due to the

database transaction that are e&ecuted by the general users and the

organi'ational administration. The user interaces are browser specifc to gie

distributed accessibility or the oerall system. 1t all proper leels high care

was taken to check that the system manages the data consistency with

proper business rules or alidations. The authentication and authori'ation

was crosschecked at all the releant stages. The user leel accessibility has

been restricted into two 'ones namely. The administratie 'one and the

    normal user 'one.

    Wy new system!

The system at any point o time can proide the details o the police

    station and the employees.

coding begins ater the design is complete. -nce the programming is

completed! the testing is done. In this model the se%uence o actiities

    "." &'isting System%

The e&isting system contains the about all the police stations that are

registered as per the jurisdiction o the system. It also gets integrated with

the employees who are working in these stations along with their

    designation.

    ".(. Pro)#em Statement%

The e&isting system doesn2t hae system security. That means! the user can

login in to system any where in the world. 9ut the data in this system is not

or public. To aoid this problem! the proposed system is deeloped as M1C

enabled website. That means! the user can access the website in that system

only! so that we can aoid the inormation leakage problem.

    ".*. Pro+osed System

The system ater careul analysis has been identifed to be presented with theollowing modules5

Po#ice stations registration modu#e% This module maintains the

inormation about all the police stations that are registered as per the

jurisdiction o the system. It also gets integrated with the employees

who are working in these stations along with their designation.

,ictims $IR registration modu#e% This module maintains the

inormation related to the frst inestigation report o the crime

se%uences that hae taken place. The 0ir registers all that a data that

is necessary or the inestigation to take place in proper length. It

identifes the crime category and the crime nature.

Investigating evidence registration modu#e%This module makes a

collection o inormation related to all the eidences that become

categorically important under the normal se%uence o the

inestigation! this module dynamically concentrates upon the changes

that take place while the system o inestigation is under process.
