Nov./Dec. member newsletter
PSCU remains strong, ready to grow in 2012It’s hard to believe another year has gone by.
What a year for the financial world. Once again we have seen many banks and credit unions that have failed and were forced to merge with other
financials. Many small credit unions have decided to merge with larger financials because the regulations are
getting to be too much for the smaller credit unions who find it easier to simply close their doors. That is definitely not the case for the Public Service Credit Union. We have continued to grow in assets throughout 2011, as many of our members have placed excess funds into their savings accounts due to the unstable investment arena. Always know
that your credit union savings are insured up to $250,000.00 through NCUA.
This year we had to pay NCUA a premium of $24,495.00. The payment is in regards to losses incurred by failed credit

Reserve your spot now for the 2012 PSCU Annual Meeting
The credit union’s 2012 annual meeting is just around the corner, and we hope you can join
us. Unlike other financial institutions whose meetings are restricted to a few shareholders,
your credit union is a financial cooperative with meetings open to its valued member-owners: You! So plan now to
attend to learn about the elections to the Board of Directors, hear about how
the credit union fared in 2011 and get the scoop on what’s on tap in 2012. Give us your feedback and let us know how well the credit union is serving your financial needs. Tell us about what we’re doing right as well as your suggestions for making improvements. Enjoy refreshments and the chance to visit
with other members, too. We look forward to seeing you at the annual meeting!

unions and corporate credit unions during the last year.
The start of 2012 will mark the end of our first year offering our new program for children to open accounts. We opened a total of 33 new accounts this year! Congratulations to all of the new account holders! It’s easy to open an account for your child or grandchild. Simply start with 25 dollars and the credit union will give another 25 dollars that will be deposited to the new account. If you deposit an additional 100 dollars during the year the credit union will deposit five dollars into the account in January. Please contact the credit union staff if you would like to open this kind of account in 2012.
The Public Service Credit Union would like to wish everyone a safe and healthy 2012!

Attention NetBranch users!
As of December 1 we updated NetBranch to a Multi-Factor Authentication login for security purposes. What this means to you is you will have to
answer questions only you would know and have an image that will appear each time you log in to the system. The first time you log in a sample page will appear showing what you will need to do the next time you login to the system. After you have answered your three questions and had a random image picked you are ready to enter the system. If you would like to change your answers to questions or pick a different image you can do this at any time by going to the left side of the screen under the Profile and go to the MFA preferences. If at any time you are unable to log in to NetBranch give the credit union a call at 715.842.9865 and someone in the office will be able to help.
One and done: Consolidate your loan debt
If your mailbox is filling up with mail from a guy named “Bill,” it’s time to visit the credit union to talk about a consolidation loan. We’ll work with you to pay
off those high-interest credit cards or other high-rate debt that has accumulated. With a consolidation loan, you will have one payment to make at an interest rate that’s fair. Almost always, that means you’ll pay less total interest as well as have a lower monthly payment.
We’ll also give you tips on how to control your spending so that you don’t find yourself back in the same situation in the future. For example, we may suggest you put your credit cards on ice—literally—by immersing your plastic in a container of water, then placing the container in the bottom of your freezer. If you really need to use your card, you can dig though the leftovers and thaw it out. But most likely, you’ll be better able to resist impulse shopping. With a consolidation loan from the credit union, you can get your life back on the track to financial freedom.
orQuestion: I have my savings

E-statements: easy, efficient andenvironmentaly friendly
Sign up for e-statements and help your credit union be a better steward of
the environment and of members’ money. Simply stop in the credit union and we’ll get you started. Then, when your account statement is ready each month, we’ll send you an email advising you of its availability. You can view online and save it electronically, or print it off and file it if you prefer. Either way there’s less paper involved (no envelope) and no funds are spent on postage. That makes your credit union more efficient and those savings can be passed back to you and other members in the form of fewer fees, better rates on savings and lower rates on loans. It’s more secure for you as well because there’s no danger of your statement being stolen from your mailbox. Contact the credit union for more information.
