What can creative commons do for me?

Creative commons is a non profit organisation that works to increase the amount of creativity (cultural, educational, and scientific) body of work that is available to the public for free on the internet. (It can be legally shared, repurposed and remixed). It began in early 2008.

How does it work?Creative commons provides free, easy to

use tools and material from individuals to major companies and institutions. It is a simple, way to standardise copyrights to their creative work.

Creative commons are not an alternative to copyright, they are on top of copyright and copyright terms can be changed to best suit the needs of the individual.
