Romeo and Juliet on the Net

Twister (0.25 point) Task Choose to be Romeo or Juliet and create between five and ten tweets which show what has happened to you and how you feel. The tweets should make a good summary of the whole story. Resource You can use the following website to help you design the twitter. No registration needed. This site allows you to design the tweet (one at a time).

http://www.classtools.net/twister/ HOW TO PUT ALL THE TWEETS TOGETHER. Download the pdf for each tweet and put them all together at http://smallpdf.com/merge-pdf by dragging and dropping each pdf and then merging them in one single document. Download the final pdf and keep it safely in your computer or memory stick. HOW TO SHOW YOUR WORK ON WIX Use Slideshare to upload the final pdf file and it will be shown as a slide presentation. Embed it in your Wix site.

Fakebook (0.4 point) Task: choose to be Romeo or Juliet and use fakebook to show your state. A minimum of five post need to be created before you can save your work. So create between 5 and 8 posts. Here you will need to add friends and they

will comment on your state. Resource You can use the following website to help you design the "facebook". No registration needed. This site allows you add images, link videos and add fake comments. Finally, you can save your work and embed it in your site. http://www.classtools.net/FB/home-page

In Romeo and Juliet's time there was no Twitter or Facebook. If they lived in today's time, they would probably use social networks to get in touch with each other and with the people around them.

Whatsapp (0.3 point)

Task

If Romeo and Juliet had lived in our time, they could have sent messages instantly and the tragedy could have probably been avoided. But then, their story would not have been as memorable as it is now.

You are going to change the course of the story. Friar Lawrence is going to use whatsapp and he is going to tell Romeo about the plans. Create a conversation between the two of them in which the plan is revealed. Then create another conversation between Romeo and Juliet showing how happy they are about Friar Lawrence´s plan.

Resource You can use either of the two applications below. http://www.classtools.net/SMS/

http://www.fakephonetext.com/

The difference is: If you use the first one, you will save the work and provide a password. Then you will be able to embed the conversation in your site. You can simply upload the image to your site or you can simulate a smart phone and make a collage (like the one I have created for you)

Then just upload the image to your site. http://www.presentationmagazine.com/editable-old-newspaper-template-4520.htm You will be able to download an old newspaper template in powerpoint format. Once on your computer, you will be able to write the story. Save it and upload it to Slideshare so that you will be able to embed it in your site.

Romeo and Juliet in Art (0.4 point)

Art Gallery

Before you start your task, you will have to search the Internet and find from 5 to 10 pictures painted in different styles and periods in history in which the tragic love story of Romeo and Juliet is portrayed. Make sure the pictures have good quality and do not pixel on the computer screen. For each picture you will write the title of the painting and the artist. Then you must write a short description of the painting. You can add links to direct the reader to further information. When you have finished you can save your work for future editing, and embed your work into your own site. Resource: http://www.classtools.net/3D/

Ballet (0.5 point) Romeo and Juliet was made into a ballet. Search the web and find out about who composed the ballet and when and where the ballet was premiered. Task: You are going to watch three videos of the Romeo and

Juliet ballet as performed by different companies. You must write a paragraph for each video identifying the moment in the play (explain what the ballet dancers are doing or what you can see on stage that make you think so). In the paragraph you must also describe how the dancers move in order to show their feelings and emotions. Finally, explain what effects has the music on you and which piece you find most stunning, beautiful and even memorable and why. Embed the three videos in your site and write the text. Romeo and Juliet in Films (0.25 point) Romeo and Juliet has been endlessly adapted and brought to the big screen. For each of these films there is a memorable soundtrack. In the resource section you will be provided with the link to the main theme of the

most recent adaptation, that of 2013. Task: You will create a music video containing the main theme of the 2013 film adaptation of the play together with some scenes from the film. Steps to carry out your task (including resources)

1. Download the music from the youtube video. To do that, use this online application: http://www.youtube-mp3.org/es

2. Search the web (google images) and save some photos related to the 2013 film version of Romeo and Juliet.

3. Once you have the images and the music in your computer, you can start making the music video. Go to https://studio.stupeflix.com/es/ . Romeo and Juliet in music (0.3 point)

The influence of such a romantic story has been present in songs written and composed by singers and bands throughout time. You are going to have a close look at one of them. In Tylor Swift´s song "Love Story" (released in 2008 as the

leading single of her album "Fearless") the names of the two protagonist can be clearly heard and understood. Task: Embed the video clip in your site:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xg3vE8Ie_E

Find the lyrics of the song and copy them as a text. Then write and article trying to figure out the meaning of the song (what is going on in the story) and in which way it is related to the classic characters (what are the similarities and the differences). This song has been used as the soundtrack of another film. Search the web and find out which film it is and how it is related to the play written by Shakespeare.

Fashion Designer (0.4 point)

Steps to carry out the task:

1. After drawing the two outfits, scan them into two different images and keep them in your computer.

2. Write a short description of each garment. Do not forget to mention type of fabric, colour, pattern, etc.

3. Go to http://www.fotobabble.com/. This online application allows you to upload a photo and record an audio to go with it.

4. Sign up (create your account) 5. Now read what you have written to record your voice. Allow your

microphone to be accessed. 6. Save and grab the embed code 7. Embed the widget in your site. 8. Follow steps 5 and 7 to do the same with the other design.

Task: You are a fashion designer and have been commissioned to design the costumes for the new film adaptation of Romeo and Juliet. You have to draw an outfit for each one.

Book Trailer (0.5 point) You probably know what a trailer is and what it is used for. Yeah! that's right! It is that short video before a film is released and whose aim is to make people go to the cinema and watch the film. A book trailer is the same but with books. You are

going to create a video to show a bit about the story (no spoilers, please) so that anyone who has not read the book yet might get interested after watching the book trailer. If you want to know how to create a good book trailer, you can visit this site: http://www.booktrailersforreaders.com/How+to+make+a+book+trailer or you can simply go to youtube and search by typing "book trailer" on the search bar and watch some examples. You can use photos or short videos. You can add text or voice. You can use background music, etc. It all depends on the final result you want to get. You can use Microsoft Movie Maker (which you probably have on your computer) or you can use the online video application https://studio.stupeflix.com/es/ Once you have finished the book trailer, you can upload it in youtube or vimeo (registration needed) and embed it in your site.
