Kindness in Giving Creates Love.”

For the past six years, the WindsorEssex Community Foundation (WECF) has
brought Random Act of Kindness DayTM (RAK DayTM) to our region, joining the
community together for a one-day event in November to celebrate kindness
through random and simple acts. RAK DayTM was developed by the Kitchener
Waterloo Community Foundation in 2008 and since that time it has grown to
be a branded kindness initiative celebrated across the country by other community foundations. On November 3rd, 2017
the WECF will be joining communities across Canada in celebrating.
I’m pleased to invite you to be part of this special day. By joining us not only will you be a part of a national
movement, but it will also offer you the opportunity to positively position your brand and be part of community building
by promoting sense of belonging—a major theme of community foundations across Canada.
With your support we will be able to maximize outreach and collaboration throughout Windsor-Essex. Last year,
the WECF collaborated with various organizations across Windsor-Essex to help spread kindness. We also distributed
over 4,500 RAK DayTM cards, posted over 130 full colour posters, and dispersed water bottles, sticky notes, pencils, and
bookmarks throughout Windsor-Essex. Additionally, we ran PSAs through the local
media, including AM800, Country 95.9, and Mix 96.7. Many also shared their stories of
kindness on social media using the hashtags #WERAK and #RAKDAY. As you can see,
this initiative receives wide-spread promotion, and your company can be part of this.
Please take some time to review the enclosed package with this letter and
review what we can offer your company through its participation in Random Act of
Kindness DayTM. If you have any questions or would like to participate in this exciting
initiative please contact me at your convenience. Thank you in advance for your
consideration of this very special program.
Sincerely,
Lisa Kolody Executive Director – WindsorEssex Community Foundation 519-255-6572 / [email protected]

What is Random Act of Kindness DayTM?
Random Act of Kindness DayTM (RAK DayTM) is an inclusive, community building initiative that was developed in 2008 by
the Kitchener and Waterloo Community Foundation. Since that time, Random Act of Kindness DayTM has grown to
become a branded kindness initiative celebrated across the country, led by other Community Foundations in their
respective local communities. For the past six years, the WindsorEssex Community Foundation has brought Random Act

of community organizations. In addition to this, the WECF also leads a variety of philanthropic programs in Windsor-
Essex including Inspiration 100, the Young Philanthropists, Random Act of Kindness DayTM , the Community Cup Golf
