Overview
• With Google Sites, you can easily create and update your own site.
• Google Sites allows you display a variety of information in one place– including videos, slideshows, calendars,
presentations, attachments, and text—and share it for viewing or editing with a small group, an entire organization, or the world.
• You always control who has access to your site.
Goals
• Audience will be able to show off their work to employers and future employers through Google Sites.
Objectives
(1) At the end of my presentation my audience will know how to access the Google website on their own without looking at the presentation more than once.
(2) After the presentation my audience will be able to set up their own Google account.
(3) Learners will learn how to create and upload their work to Google Sites in an effective way so they can show their work to their employers.
(4) Faculty, students, and Staff will be able to create a website, using Google Sites, that is customizable and organized with their work.

Step 1: Open up internet browser (ex. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari) and type in task bar, www.google.com , to arrive on Google’s homepage.
This is what you will see as Google’s homepage:
Step 2: Once on Google’s homepage click “more”, and then “sites”
Step 2 will bring you to the Google Sites homepage
Step 3: (A)Create a Google Account and follow directions given (B) Sign in
with your Google E-Mail/Account

Step 4: Once signed in to your Google Sites homepage, click button “create site”
Button is located in upper left of screen
Step 5: Enter your site name and the URL where it will be located (for example, sites.google.com/site/yoursite)
as well as an optional description of the site.
Remember: The name and URL you choose can't be changed after you create your site, or used again if the site is deleted.
Step 6: Pick a theme for your site(only few choices are shown below)
Step 7: Complete Site description, select sharing option, and select the appropriate checkbox if your site contains mature material.
Step 8: Enter the wavy characters in the word verification section, and click the Create site button.
Step 9: Now that you’ve created your site, you can create a new page by clicking “create page” button, “edit page”, or “more
actions”
Name the new page and select the type of page you want. After you've selected where you want to locate the page, click the Create Page button at the bottom of the page.
The edit toolbar will provide you with the tools necessary to edit your site.
Step 10: Edit your site using the toolbar given at the top of the page after clicking “edit page” button
Undo/redo changes
Change font/type sizeboldface type and italics,
underline text, and change the color of your text or text background:

Step 11: Add objects and Apps of your work to show off to your employers
• After creating a new page you can upload, type, or copy & paste the work which you wish to show off. – Uploading is easiest
when you have your files saved in “Google documents”
There are also gadgets you can upload to add some flavor and spice to your website.
