Lawrenceburg Primary SchoolLawrenceburg Primary Pledge:
I will be responsible.
I will respect myself and others.
I will choose to learn.
I will allow my teacher to teach.
I will do my personal best.
Curriculum Mapping
1st Step – Decide which nine weeks to assess each standard. Some standards
are assessed multiple times and/or progressively
add more content.
This occurs for all reading, writing and math standards.
Examples of Curriculum Mapping
StandardsMultiple – Several standards are combined and tested together with the same assessment.
Building – Standards are tested each grading period with increasing rigor each time.
Break Apart – Several standards have multiple parts, so we break them apart to test each component.
Curriculum Chunking2nd Step: Decide which
standards can be grouped together, so when assessment takes place multiple standards
can be tested at the same time.
Parent Friendly Report Card
3rd Step:
Reword standards to make them
understandable to all stakeholders.
Example
K.NS.11: Develop initial understandings of place value and the base 10 number system by showing equivalent forms of whole numbers from 10 to 20 as groups of tens and ones using objects and drawings.
LPS Report Card reads: Use objects and drawings to show whole numbers from 10 to 20.
