Message from Team CSR

CDPL-CSR connues to contribute significantly to brand reputaon and affinity. When

companies support social or environmental issues consumers will have a more posive image of

the company, will be more likely to trust the company and will be more loyal. A company’s

commitment to social and environmental issues are an important consumer’s consideraon in

deciding what to buy or where to shop, which products and services to recommend to others,

which companies they want to see doing business in their communies and where to work.

Companies can see CSR’s impact on the bo'om line, too. In an increasingly compeve

landscape, CSR can provide brands with a much-needed edge. Most of the consumers would

switch brands to one that is associated with a good cause, given similar price or quality. Social

responsibility is fundamental to our business, and without collaboraon we simply can’t achieve

this. Social responsibility is about aligning with stakeholders and ensuring transparency and it

comes with visible policies, strong communicaons and support from the highest level right

through the organizaon. That’s why we are commi'ed to building it into daily life at CDPL.

JERSEY is now a well known name in the area it operates. We are proud to support the

communies where we operate and have built strong relaonships locally and naonally. Our

CSR iniaves make a significant economic contribuon to the localies and communies in

which we operate. Based on our experiences from the last 2 years, we have projects in animal

welfare, educaon, health care, environmental sustainability, etc. In associaon with Govt

departments and local bodies we have treated 5375 veterinary cases and examined 244 paents

for the month of March and we thank each and every one for their support.

Hence let us work with fresh perspecve and see the changes in the financial year 2016-17.

CSR intervention to support the Government of Rajasthan (GoR) in its effort to provide safe drinking water to house-

holds in the state. In this initiative, Cairn is positioned to touch the lives of a million-plus people – no mean feat for a

state as sparsely populated as Rajasthan. The company initiated the Jeevan Amrit pilot project in collaboration with the Public Health and Engineering Depart-ment (PHED), GoR, to ensure clean and safe drinking water to the communities in the districts of Barmer and Jalore through the establishment of Water ATW (Any-time Water) kiosks. Delhi Daredevils got Mother Dairy as

principal sponsor

MUMBAI: GMR Group owned Delhi

Daredevils, the Delhi franchise of the Indi-

an Premiere League (IPL), has roped in

milk and milk products company Mother

Dairy as its principal sponsor. As a part of

this association the Mother Dairy brand

will be visible on the Delhi Daredevils

team jersey. Mother Dairy said it will leverage the plat-

form of T20 cricket with innovative initia-

tives to engage with fans and the consum-

ers. The brand will also engage with key

stakeholders like farmers and ex-servicemen being booth operators and

making them feel special while recognising

their contribution to the Nation. Dairies like Kwality and Creamline

Dairy feel profit margins squeeze

after falling sale prices

HYDERABAD: Several private dairies are

experiencing pressure on profit margins

owing to a fall in selling prices resulting

from aggressive competition from glo bal

and domestic dairies inclu ding govern-

ment-backed coope ratives, even as succes-

sive draughts have resulted in de mand-supply imbalances in cer tain regions.

Private dairy firm Kwality, with a primary

focus on North Indian markets, saw its net

profit growth falling to 11.29% at Rs

140.93 crore in 2015 from 31.8% in the

previous fiscal, despite healthy increase of

15.1% in revenues at Rs 5,269 crore.

Similarly, south-based private dairies like

Godrej Agrovet-controlled Creamline

Dairy have admitted pressure on their mar-

gins. "The failure of the monsoon and non-availability of fodder have also contributed

to pressure, hurting our revenue growth by

400-500 basis points and our profit mar-

gins by 200-300 basis points, though we

managed to close last fiscal with over 10%

growth," said Creamline Dairy's managing

director K Bhaskar Reddy.
