will also best highlight the wood grain texture on the door.

2.Whenbuyingpaint,selectpainttonishaninteriordoor.Also,notetheproper tiesyoumostdesire:lowodor,excellentwashability,easyclean-upandsmoothness.

3. Lightly sand the entire surace with ne grit sandpaper to remove minor surace imperections.

4.Makesurethedooriscleananddry.Moistenalint-freeclothwithdenaturedalcoholormineralspirits.Wipe the door thoroughly to remove all dust.

5.Paintthedooredgesandtouch-primeanyminorsurfacescratches.

6.Whenthedoorisfullydry,applytwocoatsofhigh-qualitypaint.Followthepaintmanufacturersrecommendations or nishing.

7.Besuretonishtopandbottomedges.

HOW TO PAINT SMOOTH CRAFTMASTER MOLDED INTERIOR DOORSUseapaintofdesiredglosslevel.Followsteps1,2,3and4notedabove.Insteadofstep5,applyatleast

three coats o topcoat with a sprayer, sanding between each coat.

Ofcourse,yourenotrestrictedtoonecolor.Considercontrastingthepanelswiththerestofthedoor,

makingthemouldingsdarker,orafxingdecalsonthepanelsforachildsroom.Specialeffects,suchaslayering, translucence and texturing allow colors to become more complex as their eects interact withlighting. Your options are limited only by your imagination, so express yoursel and turn your doors into dcor.

HOW TO STAIN TEXTURED CRAFTMASTER MOLDED INTERIOR DOORSBecausestainingCraftMastermoldedinteriordoorsbyhandismorelikeantiquingthantypicalstaining,CMIrecommends that these doors be stained by a proessional. This is not a project or beginners. Results aredependent on the type o stain used, application technique, individual preerence, experience, and humidityconditions.

ForthosewhowishtostainCraftMasterdoors,thefollowinginstructionsmaybehelpful.Alwaystestyourstain on a small section o the door rst, or call 800.405.2233 to request a hand sample or test purposes.

1. Prime the door with a tan primer. This will yield better results when trying to achieve a darker, more evenwood-tonenish.Purchaseawater-basedprimer.

2. Consult your local nishing supplier or the best stain to use, based on your experience and the desiredlook.Typically,opaque,solid-bodyorpigmentedsolidcolorstainsthatareoil-basedliquid,oil-basedgel,orwater-basedliquidworkbest.Transparentorsemi-transparentstainsdonotprovideadequatecolorcoverage and should not be used.

3. Lightly sand the entire surace with ne grit sandpaper to remove minor surace imperections.

4.Makesurethedooriscleananddry.Moistenalint-freeclothwithdenaturedalcoholormineralspirits.Wipe the door thoroughly to remove all dust.

5.Followthestainmanufacturersapplicationinstructions.Startwiththedoorpanels,thencoverthehorizontalrails,thencovertheverticalstiles.Usethediagramsatleftasareference.Numbers1-4indicate the order to use when applying the stain.

6. Remove any excess stain rom the corners o the panel areas by eathering with a 1 dr y brush.

7. When wiping the stiles and rails, use long strokes to prevent the stain rom pooling where the horizontalrails and vertical stiles meet.

8.Allowthedoortodrycompletelyfor24hours.Followthestainmanufacturersrecommendationsforaclear, protective topcoat.

Note: Smooth CratMaster molded interior doors cannot be stained.
