Standard is Based on C2C Principles

Eliminate the concept of waste Design materials that are safe and that can be used as nutrients in continuous biological or technical cycles.

Use renewable energy The quality of energy matters. Celebrate diversity Use social fairness in company operations, support biodiversity, and strive for a beneficial social, cultural, and ecological footprint.

will not negatively impact humans or the natural environment during the intended and unintended but highly likely use of the product for which the EMC is a component.

•  The EMC has undergone testing by an accredited analytical laboratory to ensure that harmful substances are not being emitted above the chemical’s analytical detection limits. Off-gas testing is required for all EMCs.

•  EMCs are subject to supplier banned list declarations.

27

A subassembly, component, or material within a product that is exempt from full characterization to the 100 ppm level because it is managed in a technical nutrient cycle as part of a supplier or manufacturer commercialized nutrient management program.

*The Institute will work with CSB to clarify EMC requirements
