CPC50611 Diploma of Hydraulic Services Design Program Description The CPC50611 Diploma of Hydraulic Services Design has a career outcome for specialist hydraulic design consultants who design plumbing and services systems for residential and commercial buildings. The course contains 34 units that cover common administration and plumbing industry skills plus specialist design competencies. Note: This qualification does not meet the competency requirements for plumbing registration or licensing. Course Outcomes Successful completion of this program will provide paraprofessional career opportunities in the hydraulics field of the building and construction industry: Hydraulic Design Consultant, Project Managers, Business and Office Managers, Plumbing Inspectors, Trade Waste Officers, Hydraulic Services Consultants, Estimators and TAFE teachers. Entry Requirements The entry requirement for the Diploma is successful completion of CPC40911 Certificate IV in Plumbing and Services (Hydraulic Services Design Stream). Course Length How long it will take to complete the course depends upon your work, family, social and sporting commitments. Be realistic about how much time you have to devote to your study. We recommend you study no more than 2-3 units at once. If you follow the Study Plan (outlined on the following pages), it will take you a minimum of 3 years (over 6 semesters) to complete the course. This will involve spending a minimum of 10 hours a week on your course work (assuming you won’t experience any difficulties with the content and assessment). You may choose to take longer to complete the course. The length of the course will also depend on your background (i.e. previous study, work/life experiences), and whether you have credits from other qualifications or RPL approval. Program Outline The CPC50611 Diploma of Hydraulics Services Design contains 34 units. Because the CPC40911 Certificate IV in Plumbing and Services (Hydraulic Services Design Stream) is an entry requirement to the Diploma, you would have completed 10-111 of the 34 units before starting the Diploma. Therefore, you only have to complete between 23-24 units as part of your Diploma course.

Suggested Study Plan The Diploma course is offered online over 3 years. You will study an average of 2 units at the one time, involving a minimum of 10 hours of course work a week over 6 semesters. If you find the content and assessment in units challenging, you will need to spend more than 10 hours per week on your study. If you choose to take longer than 3 years to complete the Diploma, modify the Study Plan to suit your needs.

Your teachers recommend a workload of no more than 2-3 units at the one time. You may also choose to progress through your program at a slower pace.
