Around 1860, this was the Pickle Inn, owned by Abram Pickle who was also the owner of thestaging business. Other owners were Horace D. Pickel, High constable, Robert Curley, hotelkeeper and also mayor of Cowansville and Theo Larochelle, merchant and baker.

Thomas etJohn Foster ont consttuit cette maison vers 1867. Les Fosters etaient des macrons etsont les contracteurs de plusieurs vieillesmaisons du village.Leur travail est maintenant recouvertpar Ie declin d'aluminiurn. L'avocat W. Bowles, le gendre de M. Foster y a reside.

This house was built by Thomas ans John Foster around 1867. The Fosters were bricklayers andthey had contracted a lot of old buildings. Now their work is covered by aluminium siding.William Bowles, a lawyer and the son-in-law of Mr. Foster has lived there .
