To whomever it may concern:

My name is Michael Goodwin and I am a first semester junior majoring in building construction at the

University of Florida. I first gained interest in your company after talking to your Sr. VP Hank Huisman

last Spring 2012 at the UF Career Fair Showcase. I appreciate that Current Builders self performs its own

concrete through multiple methods such as post tension, tunnel form, tilt up, and precast joint assemblies.

Currently I am looking for a three month summer internship to further broaden my knowledge and

experience of the roles and tasks of estimators, project managers, and superintendents. Ideally I would

like to work in the Pompano Beach office. However, I am not opposed to working in either the Naples orTampa office due to limited positions. I am interested in working with Current Builders because I have

the professional and educational background necessary to make positive contributions to your company.

My most recent internships make me an ideal candidate because of the construction skills, knowledge,

and professionalism I gained.

Last summer I interned in the Estimating Department at Kaufman Lynn Construction where I learned to

e-mail invitations to bid, call and answer telephone calls from subcontractors, and properly file e-mails

into the companys contact information database. I also filed bids and time-sheets into project binders for

bookkeeping, which taught me about plan reading, CSI divisions, and specifications. I am fortunate to

have worked there where I gained invaluable skills as well as great rapports with all the employees from

estimating. Earlier that June, I also worked for Cope Architects an architecture firm located in DelrayBeach, FL. My responsibilities as an architectural intern there comprised of transferring working

drawings into AutoCAD, constructing 3D models with BIM programs such as Revit and Rhinoceros, tape

measuring homes, and meeting with owners, contractors, and engineers.

During my third year in Building Construction, I have learned an array of technical skills and knowledge

including construction mechanics and BIM Modeling. As a student, I highly value honesty and would

strive to make the proper ethical decisions and to communicate effectively with employees. I feel these

skills would greatly assist me in this position. My enthusiasm and integrity for both construction and

digital media would fit well with your company along with filing and enhancing documents or

presentations. I would look forward to applying all these abilities at Current Builders.
