Respected Sir

I, the understated Pushan Kumar Dutta am writing this letter of Intent to

express my interest to work in the Field of Effective Scientific Communication for

New York Academy of Sciences as a part-time writer. I have held the post of a

Research Fellow and have an experience in this field for 5 years and 4 months. I am

at present working as a Research Fellow (Part-time) at Jadavpur University,

Kolkata, West Bengal and I have submitted my doctoral thesis in Jadavpur

University and expected to get my results in the next three months. I am very much

willing in obtaining a guiding experience through interactive programs with faculty

and a greater commitment to research and development. I further express my

interest in both the research and academic posts as offered by the University. My

enclosed resume shows that I will be awarded PhD in Engineering from Jadavpur

University, Kolkata, West Bengal within a very short time for my thesis title

„Earthquake Genesis Mechansim and Earthquake Warning system Design‟.

I have hands on data collection and research experience through which I can

offer my knowledge of research methodology and statistics gained as a Research

Fellow and a Laboratory Assistant for Undergraduate Digital Electronics. During

this time, I have become well versed in experimental methodology and basic

statistical testing. In addition, I have developed a strong proficiency in SPSS,

Matlab, C, Python, MultiSim, Circuit-Maker through teaching and applying the

methodologies and application to the experience in evaluating outcomes using

statistical modeling and my expertise in seismic data analysis. . I have already

proved using quasi-static nucleation models that if earthquakes occur during

nucleation arrest and that can be proved and not during nucleation initiation

whereby elastic rebound hypothesis stands null and void in earthquake forecast

scenario again it proves that quasi-static nucleation where the frequency of the

slip velocity vector remains static while actual slip occurs is proved for rupture

discontinuity. I am hopeful that my expertise in seismological data analysis and

design along with my broad experience in both academic research, my focus on a

multidisciplinary approach and my strong organizational and influencing skills

make me an ideal match for this position as offered by you. My research interest

focuses on Computer Hardware and Embedded System and I would like to build up

a group of Dedicated Engineers who will be able to co-operate and corroborate for

the advancement of Science and Technology. In addition to the standard

Electronics courses like Digital Electronics, Operating System and Signal

Processing, I am fully prepared to develop courses on Data Mining pertaining to

Geo-Dynamics and Seismic Data Analysis.

Also I can draw the multidisciplinary approach to research. Having

collaborated extensively with academics in the Department of Electronics, Jadavpur

University, Kolkata, West Bengal and Central Geophysics Division, Geological

Survey of India and Ural Branch of Science, Russian Academy of Sciences,

Ekaterinberg, Russia and during my PhD tenure, I believe the importance of

thinking beyond narrow academic disciplines. I have more than 5 years research

experience (including my PhD thesis work). During such period, my area of

research has been broadened from Routine Seismic Data Processing in the field of

Earthquake Catalog data analysis, Satellite Image Analysis, Strong Motion Data

analysis and Radon Data Analysis. My research work has been highly appreciated

over the years and that helped me to interact with eminent scientists around the

world and emerge as a better researcher. My research work has led to 18

publications in peer reviewed international journals of high impact factor and

awards including a Young Scientist Grant from the Asian Seismological

Commission held in Mongolia in 2012. I have attended numerous international

conferences and workshops including SAARC Training Programme for an intensive

program on “Techniques of Earthquake Resistant Structures for Engineers”. of

SAARC Countries as Nepal, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bhutan,

Maldives and Afghanistan held at IIT Roorkee where I was selected to prepare and

present report on Indian seismic hazard estimation. These conferences and various

other interactive symposiums have been highly helpful to me to shape up my

research activity and deepen my understanding on these specialized topics. These

awards not only speak a volume about my quality of research work but also my good

presentation skills, which connect to the audience and that boost my candidature

for a teaching position. As an Assistant Professor I will be able to do list of

publications will be made in journals of high repute. Develop a software that will be

promoted to different research institutes of the world through active

participation of host institutions.

In addition to the above, I have completed Bachelors in Electronics and

Communication Engineering from West Bengal University of Technology, Kolkata,

West Bengal and Post graduate degree leading to PhD in Engineering in Jadavpur

University, Kolkata. I foresee an opportunity to discuss my teaching and future
