these three movements were either non-existent or on thelunatic fringe, they grew in popularity until they became theprevalent view of the land. How did this happen?

The Choosing of Lane SeminaryThe story begins with the protegé of evangelist Finney:

Thomas Dwight Weld. He was born in Connecticut, rearednear Utica, New York, “converted” under the preaching ofCharles Finney, and worked in the American Anti-SlaverySociety organized by Arthur and Lewis Tappan of New Yorkin 1831. (The Tappan brothers were very wealthy. They werefounders of America’s first commercial credit-rating service, now known as Dunn and Bradstreet).

He was commissioned by the Tappan brothers to select atheological seminary in the West (in 1831, Cincinnati, the“Queen City of the West was viewed as an outpost of civiliza-tion in the western territories) for them to endow. ThomasWeld chose Lane Seminary in Cincinnati, Ohio and per-suaded many of heretic Charles Finney’s converts to studythere. What happened at this Seminary in the winter of 1834,not only changed America’s history, but also the course ofChristianity.

Cincinnati in the 1820’sAreas near Cincinnati (Utopia, Ohio and New Harmony,

Indiana), in the late 1820’s, were magnets for radical and uto-pian activism and crackpots andtroublemakers. The first woman inAmerica to act publicly to opposeslavery delivered her historic speechon the Hamilton County Courthousesteps in 1828 in Cincinnati. Hername was Fanny Wright. Born inScotland and influenced by RobertDale Owen, Fanny founded theexperimental community of freedslaves at Nashoba, Tennessee. Afterthe community totally failed, shemoved to New York and advocatedsocialism, the liberalizing ofdivorce laws, birth control, free state-run secular education, the political organization of laborers, equal rights for womenand objectionable ecclesiastical influences in politics. Later, many of her colleagues, known as “the Cincinnati sisters,”taught black children in schools organized by Lane Seminary. She returned to Cincinnati near the end of her life and wasburied in Spring Grove Cemetery.

Since Cincinnati was only ariver away from the slave state ofKentucky, many slaves escaped tofreedom via this border city bytravelling on the “undergroundrailroad.” There were proportion-ally more freed and fugitive slavesin this Southern Ohio town than inother cities in the North. But manybusinesses in Cincinnati had cus-tomers and clients in the neighbor-ing slave state of Kentucky whoeither owned slaves or who werestrongly anti-abolition. As a result, tension was high in regards to theslavery issue. There had even beena couple of deadly riots that hadswept through the city in the laterpart of the decade of the twenties.

Lane SeminaryLane Presbyterian Seminary was established in Cincin-

nati (Walnut Hills) in 1829. because of the Seminary, WalnutHills became the first integrated community in Cincinnati. The Literary department opened in 1829 followed by the

Theological department in1832. Its first president was thefamous preacher, LymanBeecher. Though an estab-lished Presbyterian pastor inNew England (born in anationally prominent “preacherfamily”), Beecher felt a greatburden for evangelization andeducation in the West. Two ofLyman’s children later becamebetter known than himself—harriet Beecher and HenryWard Beecher.

A Few of the Associates of Lane SeminaryHenry Ward Beecher, after two pastorates in Indiana, became pastor of one of the two largest churches inAmerica—a Congregational Church in Brooklyn, NewYork (the other was also a Congregational Church thatwas pastored by Charles Finney). While at that church, he

raised money for rifles to beused by anti-slavery advocatesin the battle over whether sla-very should be allowed in Kan-sas. These rifles becameknown as “Beecher’s Bibles.”This apostate preacher was aleader in the anti-slaverymovement, a proponent ofwomen’s suffrage, and anadvocate of the theory of

evolution. He gained nationalnotoriety when he was put ontrial over a scandalous affairthat he allegedly had with thewife of one of the elders of hischurch, Theodore Tilton.

Two of the professors atLane Seminary were CalvinStowe and John Morgan. One

of its trustees was Asa Mahan. A guest lecturer of physi-ology was Gameliel Bailey. Some of the students whoattended at this time, besides Thomas Weld, were HenryBrewster Stanton, his brother Robert Livingston Stan-ton, later President of Miami University (Oxford, Ohio)and former slave James Bradley (an ex-slave who

LANE THEOLOGICAL SEMINARYThe Lanes, Baptist merchants from New Orleans, and the

Kempers, a Presbyterian family from Cincinnati, gavemoney and land respectively for Cincinnati’s first manuallabor theological seminary and high school, which opened

in suburban Walnut Hills in 1829. The Reverend LymanBeecher came from Boston as its first president. The presi-dent’s house, now known as the Stowe House after

Beecher’s daughter Harriet Beecher Stowe, author ofUncle Tom’s Cabin, still remains at Gilbert and Foraker.Lane Theological Seminary, bound by present day Gilbert,

Chapel Park, and Yale streets, continued to educate Pres-byterian ministers until 1932, when it was merged withMcCormack Theological Seminary in Chicago.

entrolled in Lane Seminary in 1834).Henry Brewster Stanton

later became involved in the aboli-tion movement. He was elected asa delegate to the World Anti-Sla-very Convention that was held inLondon, England in 1840. Justprior to his departure to this Con-

vention, he eloped with ElizabethCady. Their honeymoon was spenttraveling in Europe and attendingthe Anti-Slavery Convention. Itwas at this meeting that Elizabethand other women, like LucretiaMott, were exiled to the balconyand forbidden to publicly addressthe attendees. As a result, Eliza-beth and the other women were soincensed that plans were made for the women’s rightsmovement. The first majorconvention was held in thehometown of Elizabeth Cadyand Henry Stanton—SenecaFalls, New York in 1848. It

was at this meeting that theDeclaration of Women’sRights was written that paral-leled the Declaration of Inde-pendence.

One of President LymanBeecher’s daughters, Harriet

was a close friend with Pro-fessor Calvin Stowe’s wife. After Mrs Stowe died from acholera epidemic, both Harrietand Calvin comforted eachother in their grief. Later theymarried. After leaving LaneSeminary in 1850 when herhusband accepted another pro-fessor’s job in Maine, HarrietBeecher Stowe became worldfamous when she wrote the book, Uncle Tom’s Cabin.

The reference in the Historical marker (reproducedbelow) that life in Cincinnati “provided Stowe with first-hand accounts about the evils of slavery” is at best an erro-neous assumption or at worse an outright lie. Since Harrietonly traveled once into a slave state—Kentucky, and thatfor a short trip (about 6 hours), most of what she learnedabout slavery was from the rabid abolitionist Thomas Weld.

She was converted to abolition by him and wasgreatly influenced by his biasedand inaccurate book that hewrote about slavery in America,Slavery, As It Is. Like Weld, shehad little or no “firsthand knowl-edge” about slavery in SouthernStates.

The Lane Seminary DebatesIn 1834, Thomas Weld, orga-

nized an eighteen-night debateon the slavery issue. Most of thestudents at Lane Seminary werefor the colonization of slaves toLiberia, but by the end of thedebates the majority of studentsat Lane were totally converted tothe liberal immediate emancipa-

tion abolitionism position. Thomas Weld, reared in a strictCalvinistic family (both hisfather and grandfather wereCongregational Church pas-tors) later became a women’srights advocate after his mar-riage to Angelina Grimke in1838, a Quaker feminist. Shefollowed William Miller, who predicted Jesus’ immi-nent return in 1843 and laterrevised to 1844. The Weldsboth eventually drifted intospiritualism, Swedenborgi-anism, Transcendentalismand Unitarianism. But thecrowning achievement ofThomas Weld was his con-vincing the seminary stu-dents and others whoattended the debates at LaneSeminary to the radical abo-lition position that slaverywas a dreadful social sin and

needed to be brought to an immediate end. He also estab-lished an Anti-Slavery Society at the Seminary immedi-ately after the debates.

Many of Weld’s followers were persuaded to becomeitinerant lecturers for emancipation. With Weld, theypreached the sinfulness of slavery and dwelt on the imme-diate ending of slavery as a revival in “Christian” benevo-lence. The success of Weld and his agents—seminarystudents and graduates, ministers, and social reformers—firmly established the movement in Ohio, Michigan,Pennsylvania, New York, and western Massachusetts.Even the American Anti-Slavery Society abandoned itspamphlet campaign and instead sponsored these volun-teers. As more and more lecturers were recruited, theyconsolidated the antislavery movement throughout theNorth, and under Weld’s direction they deluged Congresswith antislavery petitions and lobbyists.

Thomas Weld also persuaded Gameliel Bailey, a doc-tor, who attended the debates, to the abolionist position. He quit his medical profession and began to work withJames Birney, another Weld convert, who was the editorof the first anti-slavery newspaper in the West (New Rich-mond, Ohio). In 1847 he went to work in Boston for themagazine, “National Era.” It was to Bailey that HarrietBeecher Stowe took her manuscript of Uncle Tom’s Cabinto be printed (originally each chapter appeared as amonthly installment in the magazine). ANGELS: GOOD OR EVILWhile this tape is not without error, it offers

a great deal of pertinent information for any-

one with a discriminating ear. The concept of

angels comes from ancient pagan religions,

not the bible! “Satan” originated in Persian

theology. Phariseeism evolved out of Zoro-

astrianism and is equated with paganism.

Modern churches practice Mithraism.

HARRIET BEECHER STOWEwas born in Litchfield, Connecticut in 1811 and moved to Cin-

cinnati in 1832 when her father, prominent Congregational min-ister Lyman Beecher became the pastor of the city’s SecondPresbyterian Church and president of Lane Theological Semi-

nary. Married to Calvin E. Stowe in 1836, she bore six of thecouple’s 7 children while living here. Life in the city providedStowe with first-hand accounts about the evils of slavery.

Already a published writer, she drew upon these experiencesand the death of her infant son Charley in 1849 to write Uncle

Tom’s Cabin. Published in book form in 1852, it almost single-

handedly popularized the cause of anti-slavery, made Stowefamous and remains an icon of the American anti-slaverymovement. A prolific writer, she wrote a book a year for nearly

thirty years of her life. After moving from Cincinnati in 1850, theStowes lived in Brunswick, Maine; Andover, Massachusetts;and Hartford, Connecticut, where she died in 1896.

New Richmond, Ohio is a small Ohio River town abouttwenty miles east from Lane Seminary. On highway U.S.52,as one enters the west side of town, there is a highwaymarker on the border of New Richmond, on which is writtenthe following:

NEW RICHMONDJames G. Birney started his famous anti-slavery news-

paper here in 1836

The trustees of Lane Semi-nary, with the exception of trustee Asa Mahan, a Finneyconvert, decided that due to the sensitivity of the racial/sla-very issues in Cincinnati at that time, that the students wereforbidden to hold any discussions about slavery and that thenewly formed Anti-Slavery Society had to be disbanded. Asa result, thirty-nine of the students (known as the “Lanerebels”) and Professor John Morgan either left the Seminaryor were dismissed.

Arthur Tappan donated money for an exile school inCumminsville (a few miles from the campus in WalnutHills). For a few months, these former Lane Seminary stu-dents were struggling to operate as a seminary when a Pres-byterian minister from a town in Northern Ohio (thirty milessouth of Cleveland, Ohio) came to Cincinnati in an effort toraise money for his newly founded college. His name wasJohn Shipherd and the college that he was soliciting finan-cial support for was Oberlin College. A twist of history wasabout to occur—which would be the catalyst for the bloodyWar that occurred during the years of 1861-1865. The stagewas set for a stunning, major, significant deal that wouldcause the sudden transfer of the “Lane rebels,” ProfessorJohn Morgan, Trustee Asa Mahan, along with a new head ofthe theology department and pastor of the town’s Congrega-tional Church—Charles Grandison Finney—to the city ofOberlin, Ohio and to the seminary of Oberlin College, that

are now known in history .......... as the town and col-lege that “Started the Civil War.”

THE SECRET SIX OF BOSTON

1. George Luther Stearns was a wealthy Bostonmanufacturer who became a major in the Union army.

2. Franklin B. Sanborn married an invalid heiressand inherited her fortune. He later became a powerfulgovernmental official in Massachusetts, promoted Statecontrol of education and philanthropy.

3. Gerrit Smith inherited vast holdings from hisfather, who had been a partnerwith John Jacob Astor.

4. Reverend Thomas Went-worth Higginson rejected Chris-tianity in favor of Unitarianism. He was an advocate for women’srights, Prohobition and Social-ism.

5. Dr. Samuel GridleyHowe was a famous physicianand hero of the Greek War ofIndependence. His wife, JuliaWard Howe, became famous forwriting the words to “The BattleHymn of the [Northern] Repub-lic.”

6. Reverend TheodoreParker, the most famous preacher of his day, turnedagainst Christianity in favor of Unitarianism. He was bur-ied in Rome, Italy, where he had gone because of histuberculosis.

The Secret Six, enemies of Christianity, supportedabolition, socialism, humanism, other radical liberalmovements, and false doctrine. They financed not onlyJohn Brown, including his raid on Harper’s Ferry Arsenal, but also financed Cyrus I. Scofield and the writing, pub-lishing, and distribution of the dispensational ScofieldBible. These were contemptible men who hired an assas-sin, armed a murderer, supported secret crime in the nameof compassion, and dealt the United States and Christian-ity a terrible blow while claiming the motives of angels.

Part 4The Seminary in Oberlin, Ohio: “The Town That

Started The Civil War”“To change the culture, there FIRST must be a change

in theology” (Pastor John Weaver, audio tape: “The Abo-lition Revolution”). The reason America has changedfrom its Western Christian culture of the 1700’s and early1800’s is because of the drastic change in the doctrines ofmainstream “Christianity;” i.e. the sovereignty of God,the substitutionary atonement of Jesus for the sins of His

people, the sinful nature of Adamic man, etc. The legal-ization of abortion, birth control pills, racial integration, miscegenation, sodomy, lesbianism, sexual promiscuity, women’s “liberation,” sorcery (drugs) and witchcraft, etc.,are some of the rotten fruit of this corrupt theology that creptinto Christianity beginning in the 1820s.

This perverted theology is a result of the social, politi-cal, and religious upheavals of the French Revolution of1789-1799. “Many of those changes have had a long-lastingeffect upon our nation and its cultural values even to thisday. One of the results of the French Revolution which hasaffected every aspect of theAmerican religious and socialstructure is the ‘humanizing ofGod’ and the ‘deification ofman.’ The leaders of that revo-lution wanted to ‘cleanse’ theland of what they considered theevils of Christianity and to exaltthe great human potentials in thenature of man. As history hasproven, it is impossible to deifyman without humanizing God,which results in cultural decayand potential downfall” (PastorCharles Jennings, www.truthin-history.org “Historical Here-sies”).

With the guidance of Free-masonry, the Jesuits, and theTalmudists; social think-ers, philosophers, andapostate theologiansdeveloped the philoso-phies and religionsknown as Romanticism,

Unitarianism, Quaker-ism, Transcendental-ism, Deism, Pantheism,Universalism, Rational-ism, and radical Aboli-tionism. Even thoughmany of the leaders, writers, believers, think-ers, and preachers inthese anti-Christianmovements differedfrom one another on

various points of belief, they seemed to express acommon goal in the fight for wide social reform from theabolition of slavery to women’s rights. “In fact, the pre-war efforts of the Romantic writers of the North furnishedthe philosophical and emotional impetus which helpedbring about America’s ‘French revolution’ of 1861-1865”(Pastor Charles Jennings, ibid.)

The authority of the Bible, as the word of God and thelaw for the covenant seed of Isaac who were chosen byGod to be His people, has been ridiculed and rejected bythe “hirelings” who are in their pulpits. Pluralism, multi-

culturalism, human reasoning, political correctness, and mon-etary gain have replaced God’scommandments, even in themodern churches. “There aremore severe permanent harmfuleffects done to our culturalstructure through pervertedChristian doctrine beingpreached by ‘men of God’ inour pulpits than all the atheists, agnostics and infidels com-bined in the halls of acedemia.Modern liberal perverted Chris-tianity is the biggest culpritpromoting the destruction of aonce-Christian culture. A civi-lization’s religion and cultureare integrally connected

together, and they muststand or fall together”(Pastor Charles Jen-nings, www.truthinhis-tory.org “DoctrinalHeresy”).

Charles GrandisonFinney, after his dra-matic late night visitfrom a mysterious“spiritual entity,”immediately left hislaw practice and wenton the evangelism trail. But his evangelism wasnot the evangelism ofthe prior CalvinisticFirst Great Awakening

Period in America (1730-1745). This was a “new mea-sure” of revivalism and it was radically different. And itprovided many zealous converts who took these newmethods, false practices, and doctrines and leavened manychurches of the North.

Arthur Tappan, a wealthy New England businessmanand founder of America’s first radical abolition Anti-Sla-very Society in 1831, provided financial support forCharles Finney’s convert and protegé Thomas Weld, tofind a seminary for the many young men who desired topreach the liberal doctrines of Finney. The seminary thatwas picked was Lane Seminary in Cincinnati, Ohio. At thetime Cincinnati, with a population of 30,000 was locatedat the far western edge of “civilization.” For the presidentof this Presbyterian Seminary, Arthur Tappan convincedand financially enticed prominent preacher LymanBeecher from Boston. Thomas Weld also went to Lane asa seminary student.

In December of 1834, Thomas Weld led an eighteen-night-debate at Lane Seminary. The topic was: Whatshould the nation do about its problem of slavery? Thetwo positions debated were:

THE LANE SEMINARY DEBATESIn the winter of 1834, the students of Lane Theological Seminary, including

some southerners and one African-American former slave, organized aneighteen-night revival under the leadership of Theodore Dwight Weld. Theseanti-slavery debates over immediate abolition versus colonization effectively

converted almost all the students to abolition. American newspapers publi-cized the debates, and women supporters, “the Cincinnati sisters,” organizedlocal schools for African-American children. When the trustees prohibited the

students from discussing controversial issues, most of the students withdrew, set up a seminary in exile in Cumminsville, and then moved it to Oberlin Col-lege. The Lane Seminary Debates marked the shift in American anti-slavery

efforts from colonization to abolition, and the “Lane Rebels” became minis-ters, abolitionists, and social reformers across the country.

1. The conservative Colonization position: the purchas-ing and returning of slaves back to Africa.

2. The radical abolition position: the immediate freeingof all slaves, by force, if necessary, with no compensation tothe slave owners.

Not only was it national news, but also the stunning con-version of the vast majority of seminary students to the radi-cal abolition position shocked the nation. This was a drasticshift from the belief of EVERY CHRISTIAN CHURCH INAMERICA. Prior to this event, radical abolitionist clergywere predominately, if notentirely, from the non-ChristianUnitarian Quaker Churches. Whenstudents at an important Presbyte-rian Seminary, which had afamous prominent president, sud-denly agreed with transcendental-ists, heretics, and humanists—thiscaused the theological gulfbetween the Calvinistic South andUnitarian/Quaker influencedNorth to grow even larger.

Therefore. seminary afterseminary began to forbid any dis-cussion on the sensitive issue ofslavery and also forbid the establishment of any Anti-Sla-very Societies. At Lane, this happened in the summermonths after the famous debates. The Lane Board of Trust-ees feared social unrest and the loss of support from the localcommunity. As a result, they ordered both the ColonizationAnti-Slavery Society (which had been formed prior to thedebates) and the Abolition Anti-Slavery Society (which hadbeen formed after the debates) to be immediately disbanded,as well as any future public Seminary-related discussionsabout the issue of slavery.

President Lyman Beecher found himself in the middlebetween the trustees and the students. He sided, reluctantly, even though he was a supporter of the Colonization position, with the trustees. Predictable, Arthur Tappan was disap-pointed with president Beecher’s position. After most of thestudents, one professor, and one trustee refused to obey thedecree, they either resigned or were dismissed from Lane.Tappan then offered his financial support to provide for aseminary-in-exile in close proximity to Lane.

But only after a few months, a fantastic opportunity fellinto their laps. A newly formed racially integrated commu-nity and school had just been founded (1833) in Oberlin,Ohio (30 miles south of Cleveland, Ohio). The pastor, presi-dent, and founder: J.J. Shipherd, a Presbyterian minister, hadjourneyed to Cincinnati for the purpose of soliciting fundsfor the newly formed school. While there, he came in contactwith the exiles, now known as the “Lane rebels.”

After much discussion, a deal was made;1. Arthur Tappan would be a major financial supporter

of Oberlin College/Seminary.2. Thirty-nine of the fifty-three “Lane rebels” would

transfer to Oberlin College.3. Former professor John Morgan of Lane would now

teach at Oberlin.4. Former trustee Asa Mahan of Lane would now be the

new president of Oberlin College.

5. Admission to Oberlin College would be open to allraces and to women (a first for America).

6. Oberlin College would respect the students’ free-dom of speech (including views on slavery).

7. The Oberlin faculty and not the trustees would con-trol the College.

8. And after much persuasion, Charles GrandisonFinney would be the head of the theology Department ofOberlin.

The mantle had been passed from Lyman Beecher toCharles Finney and Thomas Weld; from Lane Seminary toOberlin Seminary; from Cincinnati, Ohio, to Oberlin,Ohio. Thomas Weld did not go to Oberlin as a student, only as a guest abolition speaker. He returned to New YorkCity to lead the American Anti-Slavery Society that wasfounded by the Tappan brothers. There he trained “seventyagents” who were paid to go and spread the radical aboli-tion message: All slavery is an abominable sin and mustbe ended as soon as possible. And their method: The guilt

of slavery had to be placed onthe Christian churches. Andone of their solutions: All slave-holders had to be excludedfrom their churches. Andspread they did—but only inthe North. The South wouldhave none of this heresy.

Presbyterian doctrines andthe Westminster confession ofFaith were of no importance atOberlin—social reform wasparamount, especially aboli-tion. Even Lyman Beecher wasgreatly concerned. He tried to

mount opposition against Finney’s false doctrines, Palagi-anism, and “new measures,” but to no real avail. It was toolate. The momentum had begun. Oberlin was now sud-denly at the heart of the battle that would drastically harmthe nation and its Christian culture.

Cesspool of HumanismOBERLIN became a magnet for the liberal advocates

of “Christian humanism.” Six years before freemasonCharles Finney became president of Oberlin College in1851, he founded a Congregational Church in Oberlin. The Church quickly grew to over 2,500 members, whichrivalled Pastor Henry Ward Beecher’s church in Brooklyn,New York, as one of the two largest churches in America.Influenced by the heretical teaching of both the church andthe school, Oberlin students and church members providedmuch of the energy and manpower for the beginning of themajor changing of the theology of the North. With thepassing of the controversial Kansas-Nebraska Act and theFugitive Slave Law of 1850, which required residents ofnon-slave-holding states to return escaped slaves to theirowners, the radical abolitionists of Oberlin were able toprovide more fuel for the increasing fire of the slaveryissue in America.

“Bleeding” KansasOBERLIN supported Unitarian preacher Thomas

Wentworth Higginson (one of the Secret Six), who formedEmigration Aid Societies to assist antislavery pioneers tomove to Kansas. The purpose was to they could voteagainst slavery when it eventually obtained statehood.Pastor Henry War Beecher of the Plymouth Congrega-tional Church in Brooklyn, New York sent rifles in cratesdeceptively marked “Bibles” to the antislavery forces inKansas. The main leader of the antislavery forces in Kan-sas was John Brown. The Secret Six, wealthy NewEnglanders, secretly financed him. filed against him because he consistently failed to repay hisdebts, and a domineering father, husband, and boss—was theson of Owen Brown, one of the trustees of Oberlin College. It was John Brown’s job to instigate a slavery war in Kansas.

This this infidel and freemason, John Brown, who arro-gantly claimed to be an instrument of God, miserably failed. But he tried. He led his gang of seven men (four of his sons, one son-in-law, and two other men) to murder in cold-blood(with sabers, axes, and revolvers) five white farmers (noneof whom owned slaves). These middle-of-the-night murdersoccurred in the region of Pottawatomie Creek, Kansas on thenight of May 23, 1856.

It was about midnight and dark. John Brown and hisseven men approached the cabin of the Doyle family. Twobarking bulldogs rushed out. Two of the men stopped andslashed one of the dog’s throat with a saber and the other ranaway, howling. The noise woke up the family. John Brownknocked on the door. The father, James Doyle answered. Themen asked directions to the Wilkinson place. When Doyleopened the door to give themdirections, the men rushed in andgrabbed him. The men kidnappedthe father and his two oldest sons, but left his wife, a fourteen-year-old son, and a younger daughter. They led their three prisonersabout two hundred yards from thecabin and they shot James Doylein the head. Then they stabbed hiscorpse with a saber. The twenty-two-year old son, William, theystabbed in the face, slashed thetop of his head, and shot him in theside. The twenty-year-old son,Drury, tried to escape by runninginto the darkness; however, theycaught him and hacked at him withtheir sabers. They cut off his fin-gers and arms. They cut open hishead and stabbed him in the chest.Even after Drury died, they con-tinued to hack him. Immediatelyafter making Mahala Doyle a widow by killing her husbandand her two oldest sons, they repeated their cruel, murderoustechnique at the two neighboring cabins, slaying both Mr.Wolkinson and Mr. Harris.

-More of the gruesome details are given in the book, TheSecret Six, by Otto Scott, pp 5-9.

John Brown had hoped that these murders would start aslavery war in Kansas and the nation. And it almost did. ThePottawatomie murders introduced TERRORISM as a politi-cal tactic. And it caused an escalation in the strife that pro-duced further efforts, supported by the Secret Six: Morerifles and agitators were sent to Kansas. Settlements wereraided, homes burned, cattle and horses stolen, and menkilled by both sides. Kansas became known as “BleedingKansas.” But the fighting was sporadic and war was averted.

The Raid at Harpers FerryAfter escaping prosecution for these five brutal murders

of innocent men for over three years, John Brown ledtwenty-one men, including three men from OBERLIN, in anill-fated raid at Harpers Ferry, Virginia. This attempt to cap-ture weapons to be used to kill white plantation owners inVirginia was also secretly financed by the infamous “SecretSix.” This military attack was to be the beginning of a slaveinsurrection to free the slaves in a major racial/slavery gue-rilla war. But given the opportunity, none of the slaves livingin the region of Harper’s Ferry joined in the insurrection. This lack of support from the slaves was fitting when the truemotive of John Brown’s insurrection was plainly revealed:

The first man that Brown’s men fatally shot in the attackwas a free black man, Haywood Shepherd, whose pleas forwater were ignored by them for TWELVE hours until hemercifully died. Ten of John Brown’s men were killed andgovernment forces under the command of Colonel RobertE. Lee captured Brown and six others. John Brown wasquickly tried, sentenced and executed.

In the North, instead of being labeled a traitor and amurderer—he became a “martyr”—a hero of the radicalabolitionists. Famous humanists and transcendentalistswrote poems and essays about him. Henry David Thoreauwrote an essay entitled, “A Plea for Captain John Brown.”It was first delivered to an audience at Concord, Massa-chusetts on October 20, 1859, two weeks after JohnBrown’s raid on Harper’s Ferry, and was repeated severaltimes before Brown’s death on December 2, 1859. In thisessay, Thoreau blasphemingly likened Brown’s executionto Christ’s crucifixion at the hands of Pontius Pilate withwhom he compared the American Government.

In Boston, Ralph WaldoEmmerson joined a host of aboli-tionist clergy, ordinary citizensfrom the North, and literary, polit-ical, and artistic celebrities andeven John Brown himself, whowrote letters to friends and news-papers, gave lectures, wrotepoems, preached sermons andauthored books that comparedthis evil man—John Brown withJesus. Emerson practically deifiedBrown by proclaiming that thistraitorous, murderer was “TheSaint, who se fate yet hangs insuspense, but whose martyrdom,if it shall be perfected, will makethe gallows as glorious as theCross.”

In Brooklyn, Henry WardBeecher preached: “Let no manpray that Brown be spared. LetVirginia make him a martyr. His

soul was noble ...” In Florence, Italy, where Unitarianpreacher Theodore Parker had gone because of his termi-nal illness, strongly defended John Brown’s actions. InBoston, Julia Ward Howe (wife of one of the Secret Six)immortalized Brown in the poem and song, “The BattleHymn of the Republic,” as the man who “died to set menfree.” As was common in the radical abolition movement,Julia equated in her poem/hymn the sacrifice of Jesus withthe fight against slavery. And they sang about him, espe-cially in the camps of the Union Army:

John Brown was a hero, undaunted, true and brave,And Kansas knows his valorWhen he fought her rights to save; Now, tho the grass grows green above his grave,His soul is marching on.

He captured Harper’s Ferry, With his nineteen men so few,And frightened “Old Virginny”Till she trembled thru and thru; They hung him for a traitor, Themselves the traitor crew,But his soul is marching on.

John Brown was John the BaptistOf the Christ we are to see,Christ who of the bondmen shall the Liberator be,And soon thruout the Sunny South

The slaves shall be free,For his soul is marching on.

The northern press told of the rallies, demonstrations, and meetings—with Brown’s wife in attendance, at thestrategising of Thomas Higginson—that occurred after JohnBrown’s capture and execution. But they failed to print theletter that John Brown received in jail shortly before hisdeath. It was from Mahala Doyle, who was living in povertyin Chattanooga, Tennessee:

John Brown: Sir,—Altho vengeance is not mine I con-fess that I do feel gratified to hear that you were stopped inyour fiendish career at Harper’s Ferry, with the loss of yourtwo sons, you can now appreciate my distress in Kansas, when you then entered my house at midnight and arrestedmu Husband and two boys, and took them out of the yardand in cold blood shot them dead in my hearing, you can’tsay you done it to free slaves, we had none and neverexpected to own one, but has only made me a poor discon-solate widow with helpless children, while I feel for yourfolly and trust you will meet yourjust reward. Oh how it pained myheart to hear the dying groans ofmy Husband and children, if this

scrawl give you any consolationyou are welcome to it.—Oswald Garrison Villard, John

Brown 1800-1859, p16As the body of John Brown

travelled from Virginia to its rest-ing place in North Elba, NewYork, (where Gerrit Smith, one ofthe Secret Six, had given land forBrown to farm), the Northindulged in a frenzy of mourningthat had never been seen before

in America. Buildings were drapedin black, eulogies appeared innewspapers and were read at memo-rial meetings, hundreds of sermons were preached, rallies, demonstrations and special prayer meetings were held. EvenGeorge Luther Stearns (one of the Secret Six), at a party cel-ebrating President Lincoln’s signing of the EmancipationProclamation (January 1, 1863), immortalized John Brownby unveiling a bust that had been commissioned to Bostonsculptor, Edwin A. Brackett.

Celebration of Abolition HeritageIn 1860, at OBERLIN, a monument was erected to

honor the two Oberlin students and one resident (John A.Copeland, Lewis Sheridan Leary, and Shields Green, a run-away slave) who lost their lives at Harper’s Ferry. Today themonument is located in Martin Luther King Jr. Park on VineStreet in Oberlin. During the Bicentennial of the birth ofJohn Brown (the year 2000), Oberlin attempted to highlighttheir relationship with John Brown. John Brown spent muchtime at Oberlin as his father served as a member of theOberlin Collegiate Institute’s Board of Trustees from 1835-1844. Two Oberlin students (Samuel Burdette and HenryKinney) were honoured for having joined Brown in the con-flict over slavery in Kansas in 1856. In addition, a bust ofabolitionist John Brown, which was carved by French sculp-tor Joseph-Charles de Blezer in 1870, was displayed forpublic viewing “to celebrate Oberlin’s strong anti-slaveryholdings and heritage” (www.oberlin.edu/archive/exhibits/john_brown/).

The Thirty-Seven RescuersOBERLIN became second only to Canada, as the most

important “terminal” for the Underground Railroad and a“posse” to rescue slaves who had been legally captured after

escaping to the North. In the most famous episode, Ober-lin students along with residents traveled the nine miles tonearby Wellington, Ohio on September 13, 1858 andfreed a captured fugitive-slave, John Price, who had beenhiding in Oberlin for two years. They not only freed JohnPrice, but also hid him in Oberlin and later helped him toescape to Canada. Thirty-seven of the rescuers, whobecame known as the “Oberlin Rescuers,” were arrestedand indicted by the government for violating the FugitiveSlave Law. A federal jury found them guilty, but theyappealed to the state for a writ of habeas corpus. Whilewaiting in jail, murderer John Brown visited them andmany rallies were held in their behalf in nearby Cleve-land. When the Ohio Supreme Court refused to hear theirappeal, the group decided to accept a settlement petitionthat allowed them to be released from prison if theypromised to stay out of northern Ohio. (The New Testa-ment book of Philemon, which is about a runaway slaveand Paul’s advice to him to return to his master, who wasalso his pastor, was probably not preached much at Ober-

lin!).Pursued Ideals of Abo-

litionists“OBERLIN’S early sup-

porters, students, and settlersactively pursued the ideals ofabolitionists, like WilliamLloyd Garrison” (Oberlin Col-lege: Special Collections, frontpage). Like Oberlin, a bene-factor of the generosity ofArthur Tappan, Garrison hatedthe Constitution of the UnitedStates. He called it, “a cove-nant with death and an agree-ment with hell.” He evenburned the Constitution at dif-ferent rallies, because the Con-stitution supported andallowed slavery. Surprising to

some, it was the anti-Christian radical abolitionists whoadvocated secession—but it was a seceding of the Northfrom the United States!

Garrison also denounced Christianity and itschurches. His accusations shocked the country. He calledthe Methodist Church “a cage of unclean birds and a syn-agogue of Satan.” He referred to the Presbyterian Churchas “an anathema,” and advocated that “the most intenseabhorrence” should be expressed against Congregationalministers. Then he “denounced all allegiance to theUnited States and nominated Jesus Christ to the Presi-dency of the United States and the World” (Gilbert HobbsBarnes, The Antislavery Impulse, page 93).

Leaders for the Feminist MovementNot only did OBERLIN provide agitators for aboli-

tion, but they also provided leaders for the destruction ofChristian womanhood and marriage. Two good friends atOberlin, Lucy Stone and Antoinette Brown, marriedbrothers from Cincinnati—the Blackwell brothers. Eliza-beth Blackwell, the unmarried sister of the two brothers, was the first woman in America to earn a medical degree;her sister Emily also later became a physician. SamuelBlackwell’s wife, Antoinette Brown Blackwell, becamethe first ordained woman preacher in the United States.Henry Blackwell’s bride, Lucy Stone, also achieved some“firsts.” She was:

1. The first woman in Massachusetts to earn a collegedegree (1847).

2. The first person in New England to be cremated(1893).

3. The first woman in the United States to keep her ownname after marriage—Mrs. Lucy Stone (1855). At the cere-mony, the Unitarian minister, Thomas Wentworth Higgin-son (one of the Secret Six), read a statement by the brideand groom, renouncing and protesting the marriage laws ofthe time, and announcing that she would keep her name.Higginson, known for his connection to transcendentalistEmily Dickinson and murderer John Brown, published theceremony widely throughout the United States.

4. She gave her first speech from the pulpit of herbrother’s Congregational Church in Gardner, Massachu-setts. It was about women’s rights.

Lucy became a speaker for the women’s suffrage move-ment (she was influenced by the Grimke sisters, one ofwhom, Angelina, married Thomas Weld in 1838). In 1850,one of her speeches converted Susan B. Anthony to the suf-frage cause.

When the fourteenth amendment was proposed, givingthe vote to black men, mostwomen suffrage activists wereoutraged. They felt that they hadbeen slighted, since MEN of allraces had gained the Constitu-tional right to vote, but not

WOMEN of any race. Thedaughter of Henry and LucyBlackwell, Alice Stone Black-well, along with many otherwomen suffrage activists, in the1880’s, welcomed Edward Bellamy’s American version ofUtopian socialism (as explained in his book, Looking Back-ward). It drew a vivid picture of a society with economicand social equality for women. It was Edward’s cousin,Francis Bellamy, also a “Christian Socialist,” who in 1892at the request of the National Education Association, wrotethe Pledge of Allegiance. This pledge was intended to weldtogether the mentality of all Americans in the allegiance to asocialistic, centralized federal government as opposed totraditional conservative Christianity and local governmentconcepts of the South.

Center of Religious RevolutionOBERLIN was the center of radical abolition and reli-

gious revolution in the United States. It also was the catalystof the serious departure of many northern churches fromBiblical Christianity. The Seminary not only repudiatedbasic historic Christian doctrines and the culture and theol-ogy of the South, but also advocated and supported a non-Christian, humanistic culture. It split the Presbyterian,Methodist and Baptist denominations over slavery and overwomen’s rights issues. It split the nation as the North suc-cumbed to the heresies of humanistic “Christianity” of theUnitarians and Quakers. It permeated their anti-Christiandoctrines in pulpits all throughout the North. It causedsevere permanent effects to the Christian culture of Amer-ica, which in one hundred and seventy years has resulted inproducing a secularized school system, a morally corrupt,anti-Christian, multicultural society, and a powerless, heret-ical, humanistic, and socialistic church system.

No wonder God instructed His people on how to pre-vent this from happening:

If thou shalt hear a report in one of thy cities [like Ober-lin, Ohio] which the LORD thy God hath given thee todwell there, saying, Certain men, worthless fellows [likeCharles Finney, Thomas Weld, John Brown and thousandsof graduate radical abolitions] are gone out from amongyou, and have withdrawn the inhabitants of their city, say-ing, Let us go and serve other gods, which ye have notknown. Then shalt thou smite the inhabitants of that city

with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly, and allthat is therein, and the cattle thereof, with the edge of thesword. And thou shalt gather all the spoil of it into themidst of the street thereof, and shalt burn with fire thecity, and all the spoil thereof every whit, for the LORDthy God, and it shall be an heap forever; it shall not bebuilt again. And there shall cling nothing of the cursedthing to thine hand; that the LORD may turn from thefierceness of his anger, and show thee mercy, and havecompassion upon thee, and multiply thee, as he hathsworn unto thy fathers, When thou shalt hearken to thevoice of the LORD thy God, to keep all his command-ments which I command thee this day, to do that which isright in the eyes of the LORD thy God. —Deut13:12-18

By not following God’s INTOLERANT warning onidolatrous cities, Oberlin College was permitted to existand its socialistic and communistic teachings were

allowed to spread throughout theUnited States—decade afterdecade—until they have nowculturally displaced the church.“Once an authoritative voice inthe culture, the Church is oftendismissed, and even more oftenignored. At one time, the influ-ence of the Church was suffi-cient to restrain culturalrebellion against God’s moral

commandments—but no longer. The dynamic of the cul-ture-shift marches onward. On the Protestant left, leadershave simply capitulated to the revisionist ideologies andsurrendered revealed morality. On the evangelical wing, however, the greater temptation is to affirm biblicalmorality, in principle, and then wink at infractions asmatters of merely individual interest” (Heritage BaptistChurch Newsletter, Pastor Robert McCurry, “The Path toCultural Destruction—and the Way of Recovery,” p.4;3613 Hwy 34 East, Sharpsburg, GA 30277).

Contrast the theology of the Pilgrims who arrivedjust south of what is now Boston in 1620 with the theol-ogy two centuries later of Ralph Waldo Emerson, HenryDavid Thoreau, Emily Dickinson, Nathaniel Hawthorne,John Greenleaf Whittier, Walt Whitman, Henry Wad-sworth Longfellow, Charles G. Finney, Thomas Weld,John Brown, Theodore Parker, Thomas Higginson,Henry Ward Beecher, William Lloyd Garrison ... andwith the present day theology of Jimmy Swaggart, BillyGraham, Martin Luther King, Benny Hinn, RobertSchuller, T.D. Jakes, Paul Crouch, John Wimber, PatRobertson, Jack VanImpe, Tim LaHaye, Ken Ham ...Contrast the godly culture of the Pilgrims at PlymouthPlantation with today’s decadent culture in America.

The SolutionChange the theology FIRST, which will change the

culture. Instead of the present pluralistic, multi-racial,multicultural, and socialistic theological nonsense of themodern churches, there needs to be the re-establishmentof the theology of the identity of the rightful recipients ofthe covenants of God and the responsibility of these electrecipients to serve the God of their fathers. May there belocal churches that rise up to teach that there is only oneGod, one divinely chosen people, and one culture alongwith the doctrines of traditional, conservative Christian-ity. In summary, the renewing of the theology of “thedeification of God and the humanizing of man” wouldbe a new turning point for America.

The theological war of 1861-1865 is still being

OPINION—Maybe they just didn’t want to offend uswhen we were in the midst of homeschooling our three chil-dren, I don’t know. But few peo-ple back then asked us whatmany people are asking today,“Why in the world did you

homeschool?”I suppose when we were

immersed in the homeschoollife-style, surrounded by otherswho were paddling upstreamjust like we were, onlookers felt

sorry for us and didn’t ask. Butnow these very same people areasking—and often.

It has been four years sinceour youngest graduated from

highschool at home. 1999 wasthe last year that we consideredourselves a homeschooling fam-ily. But there have been many societal changes in the lastfour years and, for me, the reason we homeschooled insteadof sending our children to public school has become moreand more clear.

A RADICAL AGENDARecently, yet another nail was hammered into the coffin

of the dying public school system. It happened at theNational Education Association’s (NEA) annual conventionin New Orleans.

Two years ago, the NEA convention was held in Chi-cago. Their agenda seemed radical to me in 2001. But thisyear, outright rudeness and intolerance was displayed forphilosophically-traditional educators attending the conven-tion. Socially conservative teachers were boo-ed and hissedon the convention floor.

Why? These teachers requested the convention to dis-cuss a student’s right not to have access to “a full range ofinformation and support services available on homosexual-ity.” These teachers wanted their students to know that theyhad a right not to engage in homosexual behaviour.

But, fellow NEA convention attendees decided thatincluding the option of not learning about homosexualitysimply would not do. The common-sense resolution wasvoted down with a resounding “no” by NEA convention-eers.

NEA RESOLUTIONSBut, on the other hand, those who promote homosexual

rights on the National Education Association—Gay, Les-bian, Bisexual, transgender Caucus’ website tell a com-pletely different story. The NEA-NLC.org website boastsseveral accomplishments made at recent NEA conventions, including the passage of the following resolutions:

• Student Sexual Orientation—calling for school dis-tricts to provide counseling for students struggling withtheir sexual/gender orientation.

• Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual Curriculum—calling forthe development of a curriculum which recognizes thecontributions of Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual persons withacknowledgment of their sexual orientation.

• Salaries and Benefits—calling for comprehensivehealth, dental and vision insurance for school employee’sspouses, domestic partners and dependents.

• Family Life Education—calling for sex educationprograms that include discussions regarding the diversityof sexual orientation.

• Alternative HIV Testing Methods—calling on theNEA to reiterate its support for appropriate and compre-hensive HIV testing procedures.

And, no doubt more is planned for the future.LEARNING OUR LESSONS

We “pro family” people have to hand it to the homo-sexual activists—they are shrewd, unrelenting and persis-

tent. We, as conservativeactivists, are more oftenpushed into the political arenabelieving this to be part ofGod’s plan for our lives. Assuch, we handle our challengesdifferently.

We 1) become discouragedwhen the going gets tough, 2)find more satisfaction and ful-fillment in focusing on ourfamily over the frustrating andunheeding larger community,3) give up when the going getstough, and/or 4) hold tight tounrelenting principles ratherthan agree with the incremen-tal approach which has been so

successful over the past thirty years for the homosexualmovement.

And we do not seem to learn our lessons well. Wehave to learn the same political lessons over and overagain, making political progress very difficult to achieve.

The point is that the homosexual movement has beenfree to work unrestrained in teachers’ unions and publicschool arenas for decades. The elite leaders of teachers’unions are rarely challenged. They are perceived as beingtoo big and powerful to defeat.

A QUIET CHALLENGEHowever a quiet, but determined challenge to the

public school system is taking place throughout thenation. One by one, parents are deciding that their chil-dren are just too valuable to sacrifice on the altar of thesacred government school system. These parents are fac-ing the awesome reality that they—not the state—areresponsible for the health, education and welfare of theirchildren. And it’s this challenge that is shaking the oncesecure government school system’s foundations.

As a parent who chose not to take advantage of the“free education” offered by the public system, I can guar-antee you that our family’s choice was very, very expen-sive.

THE REAL COST OF HOMESCHOOLINGThe expense wasn’t the cost of the books and curricu-

lum we ordered each year—most of the time we usedhand-me-downs. It wasn’t the cost of the homeschoollunch program that often consisted of macaroni andcheese.

The high cost wasn’t the funding we spent on schooltransportation—our school bus was, for years and years,

an old, beat up. “embarrassing” (the kids would say) 1983Oldsmobile station wagon.

The expense of our homeschool adventure was theenergy it took to raise our children in a world very differentfrom the one surrounding us. And in 1985, when we began, that world looked so much more harmless than it does nowin 2003.

Our family’s investment was worth every sacrifice madeto teach our children to view their world with our eyes. Itwas worth every moment we conveyed to them the messagethat they were more important than any tangible item wecould acquire. And it was worth every tear shed while mak-ing heart-wrenching decisions that our neighbours simplydid not understand.

Why homeschool? Why have children? Why get mar-ried and remain faithful to one man or one woman until“death do you part”? The answers are found deep in thehearts of those who dare to homeschool, have children andremain faithfully married. The answer is found in an innerpeace and contentment of knowingyou have done the right thing, evenwhen it appeared at times that thechoice was a wrong one.

We, as parents, have only onechance with our children—one shortspan of less than 20 years to make allthe difference in the world. I encour-age any parent who relinquishes hisor her responsibility to educate his orher children into the hands of thosewhose mission is to teach rejectionof traditional family and religiousvalues to consider the cost of not

teaching your children yourself. It’s an awesome, frightening

by Peter J. PetersIn John 18:38 Pilate asked a

question, “What is truth?” Jesusgave the answer to that question inJohn 17:17, “Thy word is truth.”

This means anything we believe thatis contrary to the word of God is a lieand the word of God teaches us thatour God desires us to believe a lie IF we will not have a lovefor the truth.

“And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in themthat perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall sendthem strong delusion, that they should believe a lie.” 2Thess. 2:10-11, KJV

Notice, from 2 Thess, that for salvation to occur theremust be a receiving and a loving of truth. Also notice, fromverse 11, that when truth is not believed God will send adelusion so the people will believe a lie. This is true on anindividual basis and on a national basis. When His people,as a nation, prefer to believe a lie rather than to receive alove of the truth that nation becomes deluded and, in such astate, will perish - i.e., be destroyed.

Previously, we wrote an article about thinking outsidethe box. Pointing out that the perimeter of the box is formedby the false premises programmed into the heads of the pop-ulace, or in other words, the lies that the people believe. Ithas been said that people tend to believe that which theyhear first; that which they hear most often, and that which

they hear from those in positions of authority (or fromthose they perceive to be authorities). It also needs to besaid that people tend to believe what they want to believe.Repentance involves a change in thinking where the peo-ple receive a love of the truth so as to be saved. For anation that is perishing because it believes lies the mes-sage from the Bible is as it has always been - repent orperish. The prophet that would dare point out the lies, that is, think outside the box, is perceived as either crazyand/or dangerous and is sometimes persecuted by thepopulace that feel quite comfortable believing lies.

As Jesus said, the Word of God is truth, but the ene-mies of God (and of our nation) - i.e. the destroyers -know they can invalidate the Word of God or the truth byinserting tradition.

“And thus you invalidated the Word of God for thesake of your tradition. You hypocrites, rightly did Isaiahprophesy of you, saying, This people honors Me with theirlips, But their heart is far away from Me. But in vain do

they worship Me, teaching asdoctrines the precepts of men.”Matt 15:6-9.

The meaning of the Greekword translated as tradition is“a handing down or over” andso it is we have had lies handeddown to us from generation togeneration in such a way thatwe believe those lies to be true.Take for example the statementseparation of church and state. We have an entire nation ofpeople that believe that is partof their constitution, yet is isfound nowhere in the constitu-tion or in the Declaration ofIndependence. It is found in theconstitution of the Union ofSoviet Socialist Republics, inarticle #124. The people hearthis lie from people in authority(or that they perceive to beauthorities); it is one of the firstthings they hear in their indoc-trination centers called govern-ment public schools, and. quitefrankly, it is something theywant to believe anyway.

So, where did the statementcome from besides from a communist constitution? Itseems that someone found the statement in a letter thatTom Jefferson wrote to a friend. Since when do we takewhat is written by some Tom, Dick, or Harry in a letterand use it as a legal foundation for the nation? ThomasJefferson wrote these words in the Declaration of Inde-pendence: We hold these truths to be self-evident, thatall men are created equal, that they are endowed bytheir Creator with certain unalienable rights; thatamong these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happi-ness. (The ‘men’ referred to did not include the ‘merci-less Indian savages’ referred to later in this Declaration!)

Now the serious Bible reader needs to ask if this so-called self-evident truth is in the Bible, for if the Bibledoes not teach this then this is a lie. It is a lie that is help-ing to destroy a nation of people and the land God gavethem. Are all men created equal according to the Bible? The answer is No! For example, did God consider Mosesand Pharaoh equal? Does not the following passageclearly teach that the creator created Pharaoh and his peo-ple for destruction and Moses and his people for non-

destruction?“For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, “For this very pur-

pose I raised you up, to demonstrate My power in you, andthat My name might be proclaimed throughout the wholeearth.” So then He has mercy on whom He desires, and Hehardens whom He desires. You will say to me then, “Whydoes He still find fault? For who resists His will?” On thecontrary, who are you, O man, who answers back to God?The thing molded will not say to the molder, “Why did youmake me like this,” will it? Or does not the potter have aright over the clay, to make from the same lump one vesselfor honourable use, and another for common use? What ifGod, although willing to demonstrate His wrath and to makeHis power known, endured with much patience vessels ofwrath prepared for destruction? AndHe did so in order that He might makeknown the riches of His glory uponvessels of mercy, which He preparedbeforehand for glory.” Romans 9:16-24, NAS.

When God gave the old Canaan

land to His people did He consider thecursed Canaanites (that He had cre-ated) to have equal rights to life, lib-erty, and property in the landaccording to Deuteronomy 7:1-7?

“When the LORD your God shallbring you into the land where you areentering to possess it, and shall clearaway many nations before you, theHittites and the Girgashites and theAmorites and the Canaanites and thePerizzites and the Hivites and theJebusites, seven nations greater andstronger than you, and when the Lordyour God shall deliver them beforeyou, and you shall defeat them, thenyou shall utterly destroy them. Youshall make no covenant with them andshow no favour to them. Furthermore, you shall not intermarry with them:you shall not give your daughters totheir sons, nor shall you take theirdaughters for your sons. For they will turn your sons awayfrom following Me to serve other gods; then the anger of theLord will be kindled against you, and He will quickly destroyyou. But thus you shall do to them: You shall tear down theiraltars, and smash their sacred pillars, and hew down theirAsherim, and burn their graven images with fire (what doesthat do for “land rights,” “sacred sites,” and “aboriginal stud-ies” in schools?). For you are a holy people to the Lord yourGod; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people forHis own possession out of all the peoples who are on theface of the earth.” NAS

So God’s people are going to have to choose to believe alie, or to believe the truth. Remember, Jesus told us that theWord was truth. Thus, anything that is not in accordance withthat Word is a lie. A nation of people who choose to believelies over the truth will eventually be destroyed. The destroy-ers know this so they promote lies and traditions (even to get-ting to a situation where “Truth” is no longer a defenseagainst charges!). Now, when Tom Jefferson wrote thosewords they were understood in their proper context for anation was being formed in a day (July 4, 1776) in keepingwith Bible prophecy (2 Sam. 7:10). All the men that signedthe Declaration of Independence were of the same race. TheIsraelite race. In other words, Jefferson was writing about hispeople. (Isn’t it interesting that other races can be concernedabout their people but yet we have been made to feel that it is

racist and evil for a white man to be concerned about hispeople?).

Perhaps we should stop here and make known thetruth of God’s Word that He created the races and Hecalled His creation good and that He loves His creation(some to honour, some to dishonour). He put His createdraces in different geographical locations. That is, He cre-ated them separate. If the Chinese nation saw their nationbeing destroyed with interracial marriage, lies, a break-down of their borders (by being invaded by other nationsof people called legal and illegal aliens) would it bewrong for their religious and political leaders to be con-cerned? Would it be wrong for them to be concerned thattheir children and grandchildren had a land and a nation

of their own, inherited from theirforefathers? Yet, God’s peoplehave been programmed to believethat somehow it is wrong for themto have such concerns. Thedestroying serpent people that theBible speaks of have programmedthem to believe this lie and, as aresult, their race is about to bedestroyed. This is one of the signsof the times addressed in thisnewsletter.

In light of the following Biblepassage, ask yourself, did Jesusconsider the Canaanite womanequal to the children of Israel?

“And behold, a Canaanitewoman came out from that region, and began to cry out, saying,“Have mercy on me, O Lord, Sonof David; my daughter is cruellydemon-possessed.” But He didnot answer her a word. And Hisdisciples came to Him and keptasking Him, saying, “Send heraway for she is shouting out afterus.” But He answered and said, “Iwas sent only to the lost sheep ofthe house of Israel.” But she came

and began to bow down before Him, saying, “Lord, Helpme!” And He answered and said, “It is not good to takethe children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.” Matthew15:22-26, NAS.

Did Jesus consider the Apostles Peter and JudasIscariot equal in regards to their lives? When He knewthat Satan desired to sift Peter did He not pray for Peter?(Luke 22:31)? Yet, when He knew full well that the snakeJudas, was going to have Satan enter into him (Luke 22:3)and betray him He did not pray for him; rather, He toldhim to go do what he had to (John 13:27). Why? BecausePeter and Judas were not created the same. The Bible tellsus that Judas was the son of perdition (John 17:12). TheGreek word for perdition means destruction and is thesame word used in Romans 9:22,

“What if God, although willing to demonstrate Hiswrath and to make His power known, endured with muchpatience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction?(NAS)

In the Bible true Godly prophets (not the BaalPriests) were sent to, preached to, were concerned about, and prayed for God’s people, which were their people. This was not wrong. It would have been wrong not to, yetthe false thinking and preaching of the modern preachersis that it is wrong for this preacher to put truths out suchas is put out in this article.

God’s remnant people who know who they are need tobe praying, as we directed previously, for a fresh filling ofholy spirit and for flames of revival. It is holy spirit that will“guide you into all truth..” (John 16:13). I believe when thatlatter rain pours out the prophesied awakening of Isaiah52:1-2 will take place.

“Awake, awake, clothe yourself in your strength, OZion; clothe yourself in your beautiful garments, O Jerusa-lem, the holy city. For the uncircumcised and the uncleanwill no more come into you. Shake yourself from the dust, rise up, O captive Jerusalem; loose yourself from the chainsaround your neck, O captive daughter of Zion.”

Could the captivity spoken here have been in part thatthey had been captivated, seduced or deluded - or shall wesay, boxed in by lies? Lies that were destroying them? PJP

“Holocaust Survivors Urge Nations To Fight Anti-Semitism” is the headline of an A.P. story (29/04/04) abouta 55-nation meeting whose purpose was “to redouble effortsto protect Jews.” US Secretary of State Colin Powell, amulatto who grew up in a Jewish neighborhood (and suppos-edly had a Talmudic upbringing) attended, along with for-eign ministers from Germany, Britain and other Europeannations. Think really hard about this! With all the pressingproblems on our planet right now, how is it that so muchtime, energy and taxpayer money is marshalled for the causeof a people who, in Palestine at least, are among the chiefestof oppressors, and whose government has repeatedly giventhe finger to United Nations mandates and warnings? Mind-boggling, isn’t it? And, by the way, how does one “survive”

a Holocaust, and then hang around for nearly 60 years totalk about it, like sad-sack Elie Wiesel, who once sug-gested he could tell the nationality of the Jews allegedlybeing burned in the nazi crematories, by the colour of thesmoke emitted?!**WHAT THE PREACHERS FEAR TO TELL YOU...

In Romans 13:1, Paul tells us, “Let every soul be sub-ject unto the higher powers [KJV]. For there is nopower but of God; the powers that be are ordained byGod.” The qualifying verse, Romans 13:3, reads, “... forrulers are not a terror to good works but to evil ...” Isthis higher power (government) a terror to evil? The evilof murder allowed through feticide (“abortion”)? The evilof murder by unprovoked war to gail OIL (slaverythrough energy control, etc) or prestige?

2 Chronicles 19:2, “Should you help the ungodlyand love them that hate the LORD? Therefore is wrathupon thee from before the LORD.” In Acts 5:29, wefind, “Then Peter and the other apostles answered andsaid: ‘We ought to obey God rather than men’.” The

God of our forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is notdivided; He does ordain a righteous Government, not anevil Government also. He allows evil Governmentthrough rebellious Christians. Evil flourishes when goodpeople do nothing. Choose you this day who you willobey (Josh 24:14-15).**

Can you find them? This is a most remarkable

puzzle. It was found by a gen-tleman in an airplane seatpocket, on a flight from LosAngeles to Honolulu, keepinghim occupied for hours. Heenjoyed it so much, he passedin on to some friends. Onefriend from Illinois worked onthis while fishing from hisjohnboat. Another friend stud-ied it while playing his banjo.Elaine Taylor, a columnistfriend, was so intrigued by it

she mentioned it in her weekly newspaper column.Another friend judges the job of solving this puzzle soinvolving, she brews a cup of tea to help her nerves. There will be some names that are really easy to spot. That’s a fact. Some people, however, will soon find them-selves in a jam, especially since the book names are notnecessarily capitalized. Truthfully, from answers we get,we are forced to admit it usually tales a minister or ascholar to see some of them at the worst. Research hasshown that something in our genes is responsible for thedifficulty we have in seeing the books in this paragraph.During a recent fund raising event, which featured thispuzzle, the Alpha Delta Phi lemonade booth set a newrecord. The local paper, The Chronicle, surveyed over200 patrons who reported that this puzzle was one of themost difficult they had ever seen. As Daniel Humanahumbly puts it, The books are all right here in plain view, hidden from sight. Those able to find all of them will heargreat lamentations from those who have to be shown. Onerevelation that may help is that books like Timothy andSamuel may occur without their numbers. Also, keep inmind, that punctuation and spaces in the middle are nor-mal. A chipper attitude will help you compete really wellagainst those who claim to know the answers. by pastor Chuck KuhlerWe consider the Bible to be the “Word” of Yahweh our

God, and we understand that the answers to all of life’s prob-lems can be found therein. This applies not only to individu-als, but to nations as well. It is clearly evident however thatour leaders, both civil and religious, do not follow this way-mark for our conduct and faith.

We read in Psalm 33:12, the following: “Blessed is thenation [Israel] whose God is the Lord; and the peoplewhom he hath chosen for his own inheritance [Israel].”Does our nation acknowledge that God [Yahweh] is theLord? Do those of our Israelite heritage realize that we as aparticular people are the Lord’s chosen inheritance? Theanswer to both these questions is a resounding “NO.”

Our nation is spending tens and hundreds of billions ofdollars in the effort to provide some semblance of “home-land security,” because we are in fear of what some terroristscould do to our nation and our people. Our civil leaders areproceeding under the erroneous assumption that we can pro-tect ourselves, and it is patently obvious that we can not, regardless of their rhetoric. In verse 10 of Psalm 33, we read,“The Lord bringeth the counsel of the heathen to naught: hemaketh the devices of the people of none effect.” We areassured here that the counsel and devices of the heathen(non-Israelites) will be of no effect, if we turn to our God.

We fear the actions of terrorists, but, do we fear ourGod? I have not as yet seen a single political leader who wasconcerned that we should be fearing God. We have let thecries and demands of an ungodly people cause us to retreatand flee from our God. They wish to force us to remove andeliminate any mention of the Almighty from our lives, ourschools, our courts, and our government. And sadly, I mustreport that they are accomplishing their total agenda. We,like Peter’s denial of our Saviour (Matthew 26:69-75), aretoday denying our heavenly Father over and over again.Where is our faith in His word? Have we no faith and trust inour God to protect us in these troublous times. In that mostfamous of prayers found in verse 13 of Matthew 6, we ask,“.. but deliver us from evil...” [something we should all doevery day!) Are these mere words to be recited in rote or dowe truly and sincerely mean what we are asking for?

I would have thought that our so-called “Christian” reli-gious leaders would have kept our civil (government) lead-ers in check and responsible to our God, but our Christianleaders have proven themselves to be totally ineffective.Couls it be that God’s former churches have today become“government churches” through their acceptance and adop-tion of the 501.(C)(3) statute? It is indeed strange that wenever hear about “the separation of church and state” withregard to this statute. The religious leaders of today havemirrored the conduct of Judas in selling out the Lord fortheir “30 pieces of silver.”

Where are the Jeremiah’s of today who will standagainst the sinful conduct of our civil leaders as the prophetdid against king Zedekiah as found in the book of Jeremiah32? Both our people and our leaders have forgotten the mes-sage of Psalm 33:8, “Let all the earth fear the Lord: let allthe inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.”

Our priorities today have definitely been misplaced andwe are going to come to a recognition of that in a very shorttime.

In Psalm 71:1-5, we read, “In thee, O LOrd, do I put mytrust: let me never be put to confusion. Deliver me in thyrighteousness, and cause me to escape: incline thine earunto me and save me. Be thou my strong habitation, where-unto I may continually resort: thou has given commandmentto save me: for thou art my rock and my fortress. Deliver me,

O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the handof the unrighteous and cruel man. For thou art my hope,O Lord God: thou art my trust from my youth.” Amen.**----------------------------------------

The Roman Church continues to support these “fake” mir-acles and their phoney relics as being important. What do theyhave to do with the worship of Christ Jesus? This is nothingmore than the traditions of man which have permeated thisapostate church. Thou shalt have no other Gods before Me.

Researchers Declare Miracle of ‘Guadalupe’ a Fake

$0+(567 1< :LUHOHVV )ODVK-- Today(Dec 12) is the 471st anniversary of the miracle of “OurLady of Guadalupe” in Mexico, but researchers are say-ing those who believe in the miracle are pretty “lupe.”

As the legend goes, the Virgin Mary appeared to anAztec man named Juan Diego and told him to relay amessage to the bishop that a temple should be erected onMt. Tepeyac in her honour. To prove Diego wasn’t lying, the Virgin imprinted an image of herself on his cloak as asign.

But according to senior researcher at “SkepticalInquirer” magazine who examined the cloak in 1985, it’sa fraud. Joe Nickell says infra-red photos revealedsketchmarks on the cloak and cracks in the image thatindicate the image was painted. He says the most recentresearch debunking the miracle comes from restorationexpert Jose Sol Rosales, who in 2002 stepped forwardwith evidence that showed the image was made withpaint.

Nickell says science has never proven a miracle, and, admittedly, no one would know what would constitute amiracle. Still, one thing he’s sure of is that “it wouldn’tlook anything ordinary like a human painting.”
