Course in Hazardous Weather to Aviation

2
Course Title: Course in Hazardous Weather to Aviation Course Code: ENV8 Course Description: The short course will deal with the specific hazardous weather to aviation and how this affects aerodromes and aircrafts. This information will help in flight planning and enable more efficient operations at an airport. Who should attend? This course will be particularly helpful to personnel whose daily operations are affected by the weather: Private and commercial pilots, air traffic controllers, aeronautical meteorological personnel and ground staff working outside on the apron at an airport might find this information very useful in their scope of work. Course Content: Introduction to competencies required by the International Civil Aviation Authority for Aeronautical Meteorological Personnel. The hazard that cumulonimbus clouds and thunderstorms pose to aviation. The hazard that low cloud and poor visibility such as fog, mist, haze smoke, sand and dust storms, heavy rain and volcanic ash pose to aviation. The hazard that aircraft icing poses to aviation. The hazard that aircraft turbulence - CAT, mountain waves, gravity waves, mechanical, orographic, wake turbulence and convective turbulence and micro bursts poses to aviation.
