Get to know us

Welcome to Counter Couture — our feisty fiefdom of creativity. The “we” of Counter Couture is Kaelin (me) and my husband, Richard. We built Counter Couture out of a very basic desire to live a simple, fulfilling and creative life with a wee bit of silly tossed in for fun. The universe tried to throw the two of us together a number of times, in a number of cities, through a number of different people. Eventually we realized that resistance was futile and agreed to meet over a cliché cup of coffee. (Feel free to insert your own sappy music and soft-focus camera angle right here.) Not only was a friendship forged, but so was a marriage, a house, some random animals and this venture called Counter Couture. (Thanks for sticking with the story so far!)

Every hand screen printed image starts as a pen and paper illustration drawn by us in our Denver studio. We strive to source materials made in the USA. When this is not possible, we look for the highest quality and, in the case of apparel, the softest materials available! There are three exceptions to the made-in-the-USA guideline: our mugs, crossbody bags and apparel. Thanks for shopping Counter Couture! — Kaelin

wholesale terms and conditions

Ordering: You may place your wholesale order through our website countercouturedesign.com/wholesale, e-mail hello@countercouturedesign.com or by phone 303-917-3157.

Payment: For all wholesale accounts, payment is due in full upon placement of order. We do not offer net terms at this time. We currently accept credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover and Amex) and PayPal. Your credit card will be charged for the full amount upon ordering.

Minimum Orders: $150 minimum order. No minimum per item. Re-orders $100 minimum.

Cancellations: All orders canceled after production has begun (typically within 2 to 4 days) will incur a cancellation fee of 20% or $99 (whichever is less).

Because we are unable to recover the credit card fees that we incur from our credit card merchant account, orders that are canceled after the credit card charges have cleared (midnight on the same day the order was placed) will be refunded, less 2.70% of the total charge.

Delivery: Since all items are made entirely by hand, production time varies depending on the size of your order. Orders of $500 or less will ship in 1 to 2 weeks. Orders $500 and more will ship in 1 to 4 weeks. You will be notified if there are any further delays. Please add 1 to 2 weeks turnaround during high volume times, such as the holiday season; so order early!

Shipping: All orders are shipped via UPS . Please contact us if you have a preference for a particular shipping method. Shipping is automatically calculated by weight/size, and actual shipping charges will be added to your total. If we discover upon shipment that we can ship your order for less, you will be credited the difference.

Store Listings: We like to keep our web site’s retailer page as current as possible. Your shop will be added to this directory after your second order with Counter Couture, or upon request. Your shop will be removed from this list if you have not placed an order in the past 12 months. Please contact us if you’d like your store information to appear differently.

For Resale Only: All products are to be purchased for resale only. Your wholesale account is not to be used by anyone other than you or an approved representative of your company. Wholesale products are not for gift giving or personal use. We reserve the right to terminate any wholesale account found to be violating this agreement.

Returns: All sales are final. No “buy backs” or returns are available at this time.

Defects/Shipping Damages: We will replace all damaged/defective merchandise for an identical item. Please contact us before returning any products. If items are received damaged contact us immediately so we can arrange accommodations. All wholesale orders will be shipped with proper insurance; we are not responsible for damages caused by the shipping carrier. If you have a shipping damage claim, please contact the shipping carrier and Counter Couture immediately. Shipping damages are not our responsibility and are therefore not entitled for refund or exchange.

Agreement of Terms: By placing an order with Counter Couture, you hereby understand and agree to abide by all the policies set forth by this agreement. These terms are subject to change at any time and you will be notified of such. We reserve the right to refuse any wholesale order for any reason.
