How it Works: webinar details

his 7‐part webinar series (60 minutes each) will require the participant to download OASIS materials in advance

of the program and complete homework from each session.

Complete the Registration Form for your agency and return it to HAH. Registered locations will be sent an e-mail confirmation with log-in information, along with handout materials and/or resources. Join the conference by logging into the webinar to receive your dial-in instructions.

Listen LIVE: Gather your staff, and follow along with the handouts, complete any homework assigned between sessions for lively discussion at the beginning of each session, and participate in the interactive Q&A.

Listen LATER: Recordings will be available for viewing until April 15, 2015.

The COS-C1 Prep Webinar Series is a seven-part program. To achieve optimal benefit, each participant should participate in all seven sessions.

Registrations will not be accepted for individual sessions.

Each session is designed to build upon the information gained from the previous session.

Homework will be assigned after each session and participants are expected to complete their homework on their own before the start of the next webinar session. Homework will NOT be reviewed in the webinars.

Can’t make a session? Recordings will be available approximately 1 day after each session. They will be available to view online only by attendees free of charge until 2 weeks after the final session.

If you miss a session do not simply jump to the next class. It is best to go back and listen in sequence to the missed sessions and complete any homework as information continues to build from

The Examination:

The Certificate for OASIS Specialist-Clinical (COS-C) exam is the only nationally standardized, psychometrically validated test that evaluates a clinician's knowledge of CMS' OASIS guideline. Beginning January 1, 2015, only the OASIS- C1 version of the exam will be offered.

OASIS Answers COS-C (Certificate for OASIS Specialist-Clinical) does offer an online option for taking the examination at any time at your local H&R Block location. Exam registration is booked directly through OASIS Answers.

Registrations and payments must be postmarked by Jan. 21, 2015. Recordings will be available to view by attendees for 2 weeks after the final session. Each registration is for one log-in connection only; use a separate form for each registration. Multiple logins from your agency will be charged.

Cancellation Policy: Fees will be refunded, or invoices will be adjusted, only if written notice of cancellation is received two weeks prior to the workshop. There are no refunds available after Jan. 30. In the event of cancellation less than two weeks prior, HAH will retain or charge $40 of the initial registration fee per registrant. Once written cancellation is received, a staff member will review for approval. If your cancellation is approved, we will email back a signed and dated copy of the cancellation that your agency should retain on file in case of questions.

About our Presenter:

Joan Usher, BS, RHIA, COS-C, ACE, President, JLU Health Record Systems has been a certified OASIS specialist for over 9 years. She has been teaching OASIS classes since 2004 and has educated hundreds clinicians in the different elements of OASIS B, OASIS C, OASIS C-1. Joan teaches both OASIS 101 for the new clinician, OASIS Outcomes for QI Staff, and advanced OASIS COS-C Prep for clinicians wanting to prepare for the COS-C examination. Her advanced experience in ICD-9-CM and ICD-10-CM is a natural match to understanding OASIS and gives her a unique perspective to bring to her teaching. JLU Health Record Systems provides multiple agencies with OASIS compliance audits to assure appropriate documentation and accurate reimbursement.

There will be 7 contact hours offered for the series as a whole. Contact hours will not be offered for each individual session. You will be sent a sign-in sheet with 7 session blocks.
