• Born in 1978 in Buffalo, NY

• Went to Oberlin Conservatory, Oberlin, OH where he got a Bachelor of Music for Classical Guitar

BackGround• While attending college,

he decided to study programming and began to pursue computer art. At that time, digital media was just beginning to become popular, so with the combination of his love for music and his new fascination with digital art, Cory along with Paul B. Davis started a record label called Beige Records.

The 8 Bit Construction Set• During his time at

Beige Records is the point in which his talent started to be recognized.

• The 8 Bit Construction Set was the first big record that Beige Produced.

• On either side of the record, there were components compatible to run on both the Commodore 64 or the Atari 800 which were the two main competitors in computers at that time.

Artisic style• Since his days at Beige Records, Cory’s became a

highly recognized contemporary member of the digital art community by making work in a variety of media including:– Music – Video– Modifying/hacking Video Games– Web Art – Performance Art

• Several of Cory’s pieces have to do with reusing and manipulating various technological applications, both old and new, that comment on digital media culture. By utilizing common “non-expert” techniques, he creates an interesting connection with pushing cutting edge digital theory, along with conceptual art and performance.
