DATABASE AND LOGBOOK

The Corus SC has ample memory space for data storage. At every 5-min the measured and converted values are stored in an internal database. The memory of the Corus SC can store these 5-min values over a period of 150 days. All database records can be displayed on the LCD. It can be decided whether 5, 10, 15, 30 or 60-min values are to be shown. Additional information of the Corus SC is stored into status log or metrological log with a capacity of 360 records each. Database is approved by PTB according to PTB 50.7 specifications.

ERROR CURVE CORRECTION

All gas meters show minor inaccuracy, referred to as measuring error as shown on the error curve diagram.

Error curve correction is possible on Corus SC if the HF input is used as the volume input.

Corus SC can save 10 points of the gas meter error curve. On this basis Corus SC will then apply linear interpolation to correct the volume measured by the gas meter. This error correction complies with standards EN12405-1 +A2. Using this functionality will considerably increase the accuracy of the operating volume measurement.

INPUTS

Corus SC has a Namur input and three low-frequency (LF) pulse inputs. Only Namur input and LF pulse input 1 can be used for conversion. Pulse input 2 can be used to verify the pulses received on input 1 and pulse input 3 is available for a second gas meter (without conversion).

The Namur input can be connected to a gas meter equipped with encoder technology like Cyble SC which ensures that the Corus SC index is always synchronous with the gas meter index.

The pressure sensor can either be internal or external with a cable of 3 m length.

The following pressure ranges are available:

» 0.8 - 2.5 bar abs.

» 1.5 - 6.0 bar abs (available also as 0.9 - 6.0 bar).

» 2.5 - 10 bar abs.

» 5.0 - 20 bar abs.

The temperature sensor is a platinum Pt500 with a 3-metre cable length.

HUMAN MACHINE INTERFACE

Corus SC is provided with a large graphical display and four navigation keys allowing information to be easily and logically displayed.

POWER SUPPLY

Corus SC is provided with a DD cell for extra-long battery life time (AD cell is used for T/TZ version). When using a Cyble SC or another encoder, Corus SC can operate for 5 years with the DD cell, without the need of any external power supply (reading of encoder every 25 sec).

If an ISC 230 external power supply unit is used, it is still allowed to install Corus SC in an explosion hazardous zone.

If the high-frequency pulse input is used, Corus SC must be supplied by one of the mains supply units. In the event of mains supply breakdown, the battery acts as an emergency supply provision.

COMMUNICATION

Corus SC in its standard configuration is provided with three communication ports:

» Communication port 1: remote communication;

» Communication port 2: communication to a process computer (or remote communication);

» Communication port 3: reading and configuration on location.

For remote reading and configuration of Corus SC via communication port 1, one of the following products can be connected by means of an infrared connector:

» UNILOG 300 (GSM/GPRS modem); - Sparkline (GSM/GPRS modem) for non-hazardous areas

» ISC 230 (intrinsically safe power supply and communication unit).

UNILOG 300 is available in versions for battery supply as well as for mains power supply.

Major functions of UNITOOL:

» reading and modifying the Corus SC configuration;

» reading indexes, measured values and status information;

» presentation of counter readings and measured values;

» storage of measured values in CSV, Görlitz and XML formats (information of other formats on request);

» communication through RS-232, RS-485, GSM and GPRS connection;

» automatic identification of the energy meter to which UNITOOL is connected;

» identification of user and right of use.

All functions can be used both locally and remotely.

UNILOG 300 with mains supply can also supply Corus SC with power.

The intrinsically safe power supply and local communication unit ISC 230 can also be used for supplying power to Corus SC.

For reading or configuring Corus SC on location, an infrared communication head is used that is connected to communication port 3.

A process computer is connected to communication port 2 by means of an infrared connector. An optional Modbus interface enables the communication with Modbus RTU or ASCII protocol.

CONFIGURATION SOFTWARE

UNITOOL is a universal software with which Corus SC can be read and configured. The user-friendly interface makes the use of UNITOOL extremely simple. For the management of meter data the Windows®-compatible software uses a universal SQL database.
