Dry Coat™ Rust Preventative is a clean and easy rust prevention option ideal for small parts in large quantities (nuts and bolts, fasteners, hardware) or odd-shaped parts that cannot be placed into ARMOR bags or wrap. It also works well for export equipment or machinery, gears, pipes, flanges, cast iron and ferrous metals and saves time and money comparedto other wrapping methods.

Dry Coat™ is a water-based liquid that once applied (via dip, spray or flowcoat) will provide a clear protective coating. At ambient conditions, Dry Coat™ will dry-to-touch within 30 minutes and will not attract dirt or dust on metal parts such as other sticky or tacky products. Dry Coat™ is non-hazardous; a safe and user-friendly replacement for solvent and oil-based corrosion inhibitors.

Immersion time ranges from 5 minutes up to 24 hours for heavily rust items. Remove immediately once de-rusted.

What causes corrosion?Corrosion is an electro-chemical processand will not take place without a conductingsolution. The solution is called an electrolyte,and it is caused by water, rain, moisture, andhumidity. A relative humidity of 65% formselectrolytes which lead to corrosion.

What is VCI?VCI is an acronym for Volatile CorrosionInhibitor. VCI chemicals are a class of corro-sion inhibiting compounds with sufficient vapor pressure to release compound mol-ecules into the air. All ARMOR VCI products are both vapor phase and contact phase.

What are the advantages of ARMOR VCI packaging?ARMOR offers cost-effective protectionbecause our proprietary VCI vapors replenishinside each package. ARMOR products areeasy to apply: no grease, messy oils, or surfacepreparation and no need to remove VCIprotection before using or welding products.

ARMOR’s Proprietary NanotechnologyARMOR has engineered highly specialized corrosion inhibitors based on ionic salts. Our packaging materials are infused with the corrosion inhibitors, carrying them into the packaging environment. In the presence of moisture the salts dissolve to form ions, permeating the packaging environment with corrosion inhibitors. The inhibiting ions are attracted to and deposit on metallic surfaces displacing moisture in the process and re-associating to form a stable nanocoating only a few molecules thick.
