When someone commits suicide; he won’t see you again. So Goodbye here does not mean see you again ( 再见 Zàijiàn);

it means I leave you forever ( 永别了 Yǒngbié le).

One Miss Malaysia made the reverse mistake when bidding farewell to the audience before stepping off the stage; she said 永别了 - “I leave you forever.” A phrase only said in sorrow when one is about to die.

Note: She did finally win the title in that competition for her other authentic performance, but one can be surprised why the judges were so loose on such basic standard!
