La semana pasada me toco visitar muchos lugares históricos e iglesias. El miércoles pasado tuve la oportunidad de recorrer el sitio donde San Pedro fue enterrado bajo el altar de la Basíl-ica de San Pedro. Desde el jueves pasado hemos estado recorriendo iglesias y monasterios que están asociados con San Benito, San Francisco de Asís y Santa Clara. Las dos fotos que he incluido esta semana son de Asís. En uno de ellos estoy frente a la Basílica de San Francis-co. Es una iglesia masiva con increíbles obras de arte y, lo más importante, es el lugar donde San Francisco está enterrado. La otra imagen es de una pila bautismal en la iglesia de Santa María la Mayor en Asís. La pila bautismal data del siglo VI y es donde Santa Clara fue bautizada. Mañana regresaré a Roma, donde estaremos de retiro para la próxima semana. Tenga la seguridad de mis continuas oraciones mientras está de retiro

ADULT RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

RITE OF CHRISTIAN

INITIATION FOR ADULTS Adults who are interested in receiving the sacra-ments of Baptism, Eucharist or Confirmation are invited to participate in a faith journey that we refer to as the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults.

We are anxious to assist you and help you pre-pare for the sacraments as you deepen your rela-tionship with the Lord.

Anyone interested in these classes should speak to Fr. West, or Mr. Lucero at the rectory.

Thursdays at 7:00 PM in the rectory basement

We invite all our teenagers to join our Youth Group on Thursday evenings at 7:00 PM in the rectory basement.

We also want to welcome our new Youth Minister, Iris Flores.

WE ARE ALL GOD’S DELIGHT is a ministry that welcomes our LGBT brothers and sisters and their family and friends for discussion and reflection. Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month, 7:00- 9:00PM, at the Bishop Molloy Retreat House, located at 86-45 Edgerton Blvd., Jamaica. News From Our Pastor

This past week has been filled up with visi ng many historical places and churches. Last Wednesday I had an opportunity to tour the site where St. Peter was buried underneath the altar of St. Peter’s Basili-ca. Since last Thursday we have been touring churches and monasteries that are associated with St. Benedict, St. Francis of Assisi and St. Clare. The two pictures I have included this week are from Assisi. In one of them I am standing in front of the Basilica of St. Francis. It is a massive church with incredible works of art and, most importantly it is the place where St. Francis is buried.

The other picture is of a bap smal font in the church of St. Mary Major in Assisi. The bap smal font dates back to the sixth century and it is where St. Clare were bap zed. I will be returning to Rome to-morrow where we will be on retreat for the next week. Be assured of my con nued prayers while on retreat
