Corporate Overview
Intrinsic ID provides authentication for systems and IC manufacturers needing to incorporate security into IoT, mobile, smartcard, wearable and similar products. Unlike traditional key injection methods, Intrinsic ID utilizes SRAM Physical Unclonable Functions (PUF) technology to provide a level of security that is entirely unique.
Intrinsic ID leverages inherent manufacturing variations in chips to create unique IDs and keys to authenticate chips, data, devices and systems. Since a unique ID can be extracted easily from SRAM with Intrinsic ID’s technology, adding authentication and key provisioning is much less expensive than with current methods; no additional hardware is needed. The low cost of implementing SRAM PUF makes Intrinsic ID’s authentication technology ideally positioned to address the security needs of the fast-growing IoT market.
Applications Intrinsic ID’s security solutions are deployed in smart products ranging from low-power IoT devices such as sensors and wearables to high-end defense-grade and datacenter components. Intrinsic ID’s products are used worldwide in millions of devices to validate payment systems, secure connectivity, authenticate sensors and protect sensitive government and military data and systems.

Intrinsic ID’s Core Technology: SRAM Physical Unclonable Function Deep sub-micron variations in the semiconductor manufacturing process make each transistor and each piece of silicon unique like a human fingerprint. These variations are random and uncontrollable, so it is impossible to make an exact clone of a piece of silicon. Hence we refer to this as a Physical Unclonable Function or PUF. Intrinsic ID has perfected the technology to securely and reliably use these silicon fingerprints for security applications protecting devices as well as their connections to other components such as the Cloud.
