Hello and welcome to our exciting autumn season at the Corn Exchange and New Greenham Arts
Whilst compiling our programme we always aim to find something for everyone and I’m confident we’ve achieved that again. Selecting just a handful to showcase is almost impossible but with my hand forced I would suggest taking a closer look at Roundabout from Paines Plough. This is some of the finest contemporary theatre being presented in the UK and I’m proud we can return the company to Newbury. Equally, Pss Pss is absolutely worth seeing too; it is one of the funniest pieces of clowning I have seen but make sure you also take a peek at The Ballad of Martha Brown, He Had Hairy Hands, Irish House Party and Beauty of the Beast. There truly is something for everyone.
And of course there is the annual pantomime; this year Dick Whittington! Full of all the usual magic, mischief and mayhem we have come to expect. Just make sure you book early.
Plus from September we will be running the café at the Corn Exchange and I can announce we will be looking to introduce an evening menu. Keep your eyes (and bellies!) peeled for more information and enjoy your whole evening out with us.
All the team look forward to welcoming you back very soon.

THE PRINCESS & THE PEAPRESENTED BY NORWICH PUPPET THEATRE CO-PRODUCED BY BANYAN THEATRE AND POLKA THEATRE
A beautiful production especially for 3 to 7 year olds. A wonderful introduction to theatre for little ones and the perfect alternative to the pantomime.
Once upon a stormy night, while the wind and the rain were howling outside, the Royals were all tucked up warm in bed. Suddenly there came a knock at the door and a very wet, very untidy girl was brought inside...
Become part of this playful and comic story of a prince in search of a ‘real’ princess, a clever queen, a girl who is not as she first appears, a tower of mattresses and of course a tiny pea.
This quirky and inventive adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen’s bedtime tale is played out among sheets and blankets with puppets, objects and dreamlike projections.
