    Geospatial reference data is critical for the Emergency Management Service

    Over 20 reference datasets reported as critical:

    ortho-imagery

    administrative units

    transport networks

    buildings

    land cover/use

    etc…

    Existing challenges and issues (1/2)

    In Europe data is often owned by national and regional authorities;

    The amount is huge and it is increasing;

    Data is heterogeneous.

    Existing challenges and issues (2/2)

    Finding the relevant data has been the “headache” of Copernicus service providers;

    Data use is often restricted;

    Duplication of effort due to cross-cuttinguse of the same data by several services.

    CORDA – what is it?

    Single access node providing link to the most up-to-date relevant authoritative geospatial reference data at their source

    Tailored to the needs and accessible only for Emergency Management and Land Monitoring services

    Hosted and maintained by the EEA

    Operationally available since October 2015
