What is Copyright vs. Citing Sources vs. Trademark vs. Patent?

Copyright-rights to intellectual property (authors, film, drama, musicians)

Trademark- rights to business symbols, logos etc.

Patent-rights to inventors

Once we determine if we can use the item, proper academic etiquette determines we must then give credit to the author/creator by citing the source.

Copyright lets us know first if we can use an item and second how we can use an item.Look for Copyright
