What is Project Integration Management?

• Includes processes required to ensure that the various elements of the project are properly coordinated.

• The processes are primarily integrative.• Includes three major PM processes:

Why is PIM important?

• Its processes are required to ensure the coordination and integration of competing objectives and alternatives.

• It is the over-arching knowledge area.– It is the only knowledge area focused on project

plan development and execution.– It contains the three highest level project

management processes.

• Its processes integrate with the processes in other knowledge areas.


What are key PIM concepts?• PIM processes interact with each other and with processes
