Introduction

A wireless technology is a technology in which use of wire for

communicating each other is eliminated. Radio and TV broadcasting to

Mobile phone and Blue tooth are examples of wireless technologies.

Electromagnetic waves has been used in many of these technologies.

First communication only satellite Telstart was launched on 1960s and

it made possible to communicate to any part of world.

The term is often shortened to "wireless".

The longest waves of the electromagnetic spectrum are radio

waves. They have wavelengths ranging from more than 100

kilometers down to less than a meter. All wireless media relayon various parts of electromagnetic spectrum. Microwave

systems transmit high frequency ratio signals through the

atmosphere.

APPLICATIONS

Security systemsWireless technology may supplement or replace hard wired

implementations in security systems for homes or office

buildings.

Television remote control

Modern televisions use wireless (generally infrared) remote

control units. Now radio waves are also used.

Cellular telephone (phones and modems)

Perhaps the best known example of wireless technology is the

cellular telephone and modems. These instruments use radiowaves to enable the operator to make phone calls from many

locations worldwide. They can be used anywhere that there is a

cellular telephone site to house the equipment that is required

to transmit and receive the signal that is used to transfer both

voice and data to and from these instruments.

Wireless Architectures

Anyone who is up to date on the Wireless World will reassuringlysay that the dependency on Wireless Technology has increasedover the last year. These days, any person from the age of 5 to 95

can hold some sort of portable device be it a cell phone or apager that not only allows one to communicate with family andfriends, but now one can check his email, his stock portfolios, andbrowse the web all from whatever device he is holding in his handor nearby on his desk .

Types of wireless technology.Voice Communications

This is where it all started... people just talking to each other over radios, each the size of about a hundred cell phones. While it was nice tocommunicate with an actual person, it was a very slow  way to exchangeinformation. And wireless is good for much more than just a two-way voiceconversation. Cell phones are now the preferred means of voicecommunication, but they also allow texting and internet access.

Remote ControlThere are many types of wireless technology remote controllers and youllalready know about some of these....

TV remoteCar remote access key ring

Garage door opener

CD and DVD player controller

Interactive games controller

Remote control of spacecraft from an earth station

Item Tracking

You can now track items easily, accurately and cheaply by attaching

wireless Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID) tags to them.A special RFID reader  is used to read the tags.

Each tag has a unique number and allows user to track...

Products

Items in a store

VehiclesLaboratory samples etc.this type of wireless technology can

significantly reduce the risk of misadventure when things get busy

and resources are scarce.

EntertainmentEntertainment is one of the types of wireless technology. But a simple application, being

able to record or listen to music without being tethered by a wire lets you do other thingsat the same time and is great if you need to move around.

Here are some products that are popular for wireless entertainment...

Wireless speakers

Wireless headphones

Wireless earbuds

Wireless MicrophoneWireless home theatre

Interactive wireless games

Navigation and Location

 Cell Phones

 Smart Phones
