Multimedia in the Classroom Final Presentation

Put your best foot forward

-To begin I loved this class.-I found a lot of the material useful, but the most useful tool I used was easily Jing.-Jing allows you to quickly and easily create tutorials for anything.-Everything you do on your computer can be recorded and used as step by step instructions.

My Greatest Successes

The two projects that stuck out to me were the Jing tutorial and the audio presentation. I already explained the tutorial, but the audio presentation will undoubtedly be added to my social studies curriculum next year. It is always difficult to find new ways to excite students in history. However, I know that students would love the chance to do radio spoofs. These two projects, as well as the other two, really give students a chance to showcase their abilities in new and exciting ways. When students stay motivated, they will learn more. Challenges that I faced

I do not pretend to be a great artist. Most of my students make fun of me whenever I have to draw something on the board. This is one of the main reasons I started taking technology courses. I consider myself to be fairly tech savvy, and I have found that embracing tech has helped reach many of my students. With that said, I greatly struggled with the photo editing project. I have a hard time figuring out what pictures to edit, and how to create something that is aesthetically pleasing.

Making a weakness a strength

Despite being out of my comfort zone, I am very proud of the photo edits I created. They can, and will, all be used next year in my curriculum.

My Take on Moodle

I can not say enough good things about online learning. It gives you the chance to figure out new ideas on your own. It also gives teachers a first hand idea of the process of learning. We must go through each step, just like our students will. This gives us not only new ideas, but insight into how students must use real time problem solving skills to reach their goal. This will allow me to know what problems can occur, and how to help students independently reach their goals.

Final Thoughts

Once again this course could not have been more useful and helpful. I can not remember the last course I took that gave me at least four new tools that will get used next year with all of my students. I also had to talk about filedropper. Finding out about this made the course worth taking (that and about 10 other things).
