ENTERPRISE SCHOOL SONG 1st Verse: Our dear old school we love so well, we'll ever sing your praise. For virtues rare and loyalty with love our songs we'll raise. Your gold a symbol of true worth; your blue to match the sky. Proclaiming courage, loyalty our school dear Enterprise High. Chorus Then get in line for wisdom calls, let's cheer Hurrah! Hurrah!

With our gold and blue to guide us through, we’re boosting, climbing on our way. And though the summit’s far ahead we're here to do or die. With courage true we'll stand by you; lead on dear Enterprise High.

Attendance Policy (abridged): Enterprise High School (EHS) is committed to work in harmony with parents to encourage the regular attendance of all students. Student learning/achievement is directly related to attendance. Enterprise High School will follow the Washington County School District Attendance Policy, which is listed below, and can also be found on the EHS website: http://www.washk12.org/policy (select 2900 Attendance) If parents need to have their students excused for travel, the students should obtain a “Request for Pre-Approved Extended Leave” from the Attendance Office. This makes it helpful for students to acquire work they will miss during their absence so they don’t fall behind. EHS will focus on positive interventions for students having issues with excessive absences and/or tardies. Each student will be allowed 3 absences (excused or unexcused) per term per class before being considered excessive. On the 4th absence students will be referred to the administration. EHS will use Lunch Detention, After/Before School Assignments, student trackers, and the School of Life Program as attendance/behavior interventions. See Mr. Holt for more information concerning the School of Life Program. Attendance and grades can be tracked on PowerSchool at the following link: http://washk12.org/parents-students/parents-students-student-records/powerschool Excused Absence - Parents will need to call or Email the EHS Attendance Office to excuse their students (435-878-2248, ext. 3161 or [email protected]). After each excused absence students will be given 2 school days to make up missed work. It is the student’s responsibility to communicate with their teacher if they miss a day. Parents may excuse absences prior to the absence, they day of the absence, or up to but not exceeding one week after the absence. It will not be accepted for parents to call in and excuse mass absences after the fact. Unexcused Absence – Parents will be notified each day (voice message, text, or E-mail) when their students have been marked with an unexcused absence. Teachers should communicate with parents and/or attendance secretary on unexcused absences. School Activities – When missing school for a school excused activity, students should speak with their teachers and get assignments prior to leaving for the activity. Tardies - Each student will be allowed 3 tardies per term per class. On the 4th tardy the student will be referred to administration for intervention. Truant - Automatic referral to administration for intervention. Grades – must be updated by teachers on PowerSchool each week by Monday morning. Teachers must mark attendance on PowerSchool each day. Teachers can have their own classroom policies for tardies and absences, but this policy must be consistent with the school policy and also stated within their personal disclosure statement.

ANNOUNCEMENTS The daily bulletin will be given over the intercom at the beginning of the first period of each day, usually by the student body officers. Information to be announced must to the front office by 7:45. Any other approved announcements will be made during period breaks, at lunchtime, or after school. The principal or his designee must clear emergency use of the intercom. Non-school announcements will generally not be approved. The pledge of allegiance will be given each morning at the beginning of the morning announcements. ATTENDING OTHER CLASSES A student will be considered truant if he or she is not in his or her assigned class. If the student is in another teacher's class without the approval of the assigned teacher in the student’s schedule or administrator, he or she is considered truant. Students are not allowed to attend another class without a note from the assigned teacher or administrator. ACTIVITY PARTICIPATION Attendance is important. When you are participating in any school activity, be it SPORTS, FINE ARTS, VOCATIONAL, ACADEMIC, ETC. ♦ You must attend all of your classes the day of the activity in which you are participating. ♦ If you are unable to attend school because of illness, you will be considered too ill to

participate. ♦ An unresolved truancy will result in sitting out a minimum of one (1) activity or game, until

truancy is resolved. ♦ If for some reason you are unable to attend all of your classes, you must receive clearance in

advance from the administration. This includes Dr. and Dentist appointments. Clearance will not be automatic; the administrator and advisor will decide whether or not your reason is valid. Being given an excuse for the absence does not necessarily mean you are cleared to participate. THE ENTERPRISE POLICY FOR ELIGIBILITY INCLUDES: All participation fees must be paid in full before participation will be allowed. Uniforms from prior sport must be turned in before you can play in any game. Students cannot travel in their own cars to activities in which they are participating. Special permission can be granted for students to be released to their parents (no one else) at the activity, with permission from the advisor or administrator. The following guidelines will be used to determine eligibility to perform on any team, club activities, or extra-curricular activities. This group would include (Football, Cross-Country, Cheerleading, Drill Team, Volleyball, Track, Baseball, Softball, Basketball, Wrestling, Spanish Club, Jazz Band, Speech, Drama, Musicals, Plays, FCCLA, FHA, or any other activity) The following guidelines must be met during the previous quarter to be eligible. 1. ♦ Enterprise High School has had many compliments given by motels, restaurants, and other schools for the high quality behavior exhibited by its students while on activity trips. It is expected that this high standard of behavior be maintained.

♦ Where participation fees are not outlined as part of an activity, (field trips, science trips, booster buses, club trips, etc.) the costs will be determined and collected for each individual trip. The amount collected will need to be sufficient to cover all costs related to the trip.

ACTIVITIES AND ILLEGAL SUBSTANCE USE Any student using any illegal substance (tobacco, alcohol, drugs, etc.) while a member of a team involved in extracurricular activities will face the following consequences (Safe school policy will be in effect). 1st Offense: The student will not be able to perform with the team for four (4) weeks or (4) activities (determined by the coach and Athletic Director) starting with the first activity after the offense. The coach has the right to increase that penalty up to dismissing the student from the team for the season. Practice requirements during the time of suspension will be handled by the coach. 2nd Offense: The student will most likely be dismissed from the team for the season. However, circumstances may warrant an additional four (4) weeks or four (4) activities suspension. This decision will be made by the coach and Athletic Director. Students behaving improperly, such as shoplifting, while on a school-sponsored activity will be faced with the same penalty as using any illegal substance. AUDITORIUM EVENT RULES

A student who makes little or no effort to do class work or to complete assignments will be counseled by the counselor and/or administrator upon referral by the teacher. Refusal to work on the part of the student will lead to a parent conference to create a plan or contract to assist the student in accepting his/her responsibility in school. Other interventions may also be put in place to assist the student in his/her learning activities. If behavior becomes insubordinate, disciplinary action may be instigated.

FINES Students who lose or damage library books, textbooks, school equipment, etc. will be required to pay the cost of replacement or repair. All fines and fees must be paid in order for students to participate in graduation ceremonies. FINAL CHECK-OUT ♦ Students must submit a written request from parents to the administration of the school three days

prior to their leaving. ♦ Students need to be cleared through the administration before they make arrangements with the

teachers. At this time, they will receive a checkout sheet or written confirmation. ♦ All paperwork and assignments, which are completed on time, will be accepted and graded with the

student receiving the proper credit. ♦ Tests and final exams are not to be given early. ♦ The grade will be reduced by failing to be in attendance to take the final exam. (The grade will not be

reduced because of the absence, but will be reduced by the failure to complete the final exam.) ♦ No student is to be given an INCOMPLETE grade the last term unless the circumstances are so

unique that it can be handled in no other way. This applies to all students, not just those who leave early.

FOOD/DRINK IN CLASSROOMS Eating snacks or drinking pop, etc. in classrooms is not allowed except by permission on special occasions. GANG POLICY A "Gang" as defined in this policy means any organization, association, or group of three or more which has a unique name or identifiable signs, symbols, or marks, and whose members individually or collectively engage in criminal or violent behavior to persons or property, or who create an unreasonable and substantial disruption or risk of disruption of a class, activity, program, or other function of a school

1. Students are prohibited from engaging in any form of gang activity on or about school property or at any school activity, including the wearing, possessing, using, distributing, displaying or selling of any gang attire, symbols, signs or other things which are evidence of membership in, or affiliation with recruitment, or desire to be affiliated with any gang.

2. As gang styles and clothing continually evolve and change, the following prohibited items that have commonly denoted gang membership or affiliation are only representative of prohibited clothing. Additional styles and apparel may be considered gang-affiliated, as identified in consultation with school officials and law enforcement authorities: a. Because of identification and association with gangs, the following will not be permitted on

school campuses or school activities: bandannas or any article of clothing bearing gang symbols, names, initials, insignia, or anything else that signals gang affiliation.

b. At Enterprise High School "low rider" pants, long hanging belt tails, and wallet chains are interpreted as gang-type attire. A list of gang-style brands, logos, etc. will be made available in the office upon request.

Administrators will notify students when they do not comply with the dress standard. (See Dress/Grooming Standards) GRADES/GRADING Each student will receive a quarter credit for each term upon successful completion of each class, and will also be given a letter grade (A,B,C,D,F, I). A student must be enrolled seven weeks and take the final exam, except in extreme cases due to extenuating circumstances determined by the teacher, counselor and

administrator, in order to receive credit. An Incomplete (I) must be made up within the first two weeks of the succeeding term, unless an extension of time is approved. HALL PASSES Students are not permitted in the halls during class periods unless a teacher accompanies them or they have a hall pass from an authorized staff member. A hall pass is issued by the teacher, and they are responsible for students to whom they issue hall passes. Students roaming the halls may be marked truant or unexcused if they do not have a hall pass. HAZING 1.0 General Purpose: Hazing and initiation activities that involve hazing are abusive and illegal behaviors that harm victims and negatively impact the school environment by creating an atmosphere of fear, distrust, and mean-spiritedness. Because Washington County School District (WCSD) is committed to providing a safe and orderly environment for all students that promotes respect, civility, and dignity, it is the purpose of this policy to create and preserve an educational environment free from any type of hazing or initiation activities that involve hazing. 2.0 Policy: 2.1 WCSD strictly prohibits students from engaging individually or collectively in any form of hazing or related initiation activity on school property, in conjunction with any school activity, or involving any person associated with school regardless of where it occurs. Any student who participates in hazing or related initiation activity, or conspires to engage in hazing will face immediate disciplinary action, up to and including suspension, expulsion, exclusion, and loss of participation in extra-curricular activities. Suspensions and expulsions are handled as per WCSD Safe Schools Policy. In addition, students who participate in hazing may be referred to appropriate law enforcement authorities and may face subsequent prosecution. These rules and regulations are to assist in implementing the Hazing Policy No 6-__. 1.0 Definitions: "Hazing" means any action taken or situation created that causes, or is reasonably likely to cause, harassment, bodily danger or physical harm, serious mental or emotional harm, extreme embarrassment or ridicule, or personal degradation or loss of dignity to any student or other person associated with the school 1.1 Consent is no defense to hazing; i.e., the implied or expressed consent of a person or persons to hazing shall not be a defense to discipline under this policy. 1.2 "Related initiation activity" means any method of initiation or pre-initiation into a student organization, club, or team, that causes or is reasonably likely to cause, bodily danger or physical harm, serious mental or emotional harm, extreme embarrassment or ridicule, or personal degradation or loss of dignity to any student or other person associated with the school. 1.21 The terms "hazing" and "initiation activity" do not include customary athletic events, intramural activities, or other similar student contests or competitions. 1.3 "Conspire to engage in hazing" means to plan, encourage, fail to prevent, or fail to report hazing and related initiation activities prohibited by this policy. 2.0 PROHIBITED CONDUCT: 2.1 Activities that may be construed as hazing under this policy include, but are not limited to the following: 2.1.1 Any act that involves physical aggression that causes or is reasonably likely to cause bodily danger or physical harm to an individual: 2.1.2 Any act that involves forced consumption of food, alcohol, drugs, or other substance, or any other forced physical activity that could adversely affect the physical health or safety of an individual; 2.1.3 Any activity that would subject an individual to extreme mental stress, embarrassment, or emotional harm, or any other forced activity that could adversely affect the mental health or dignity of the individual.

3.0 REPORTING REQUIREMENT: 3.1 School personnel who become aware of hazing or related initiation activity shall report such incident immediately to school administrators so that prompt and appropriate action can be taken. School personnel who fail to report incidents of hazing to school or District administrators may face disciplinary action. 3.2 Students who observe hazing activities and fail to intervene or report the hazing to school officials may face disciplinary action for conspiring to engage in hazing. 4.0 POLICY DISSEMINATION 4.1 This policy shall be posted in a prominent place in each school in the District. The policy shall also be published in student registration materials; student, parent, and employee handbooks; and other appropriate school publications as directed by the Superintendent. 4.2 Each District Principal, Athletic Coach, Cheerleading Advisor, and other extra-curricular supervisor shall inform his/her students about this policy at the beginning of each school year, and prior to the beginning of each team or group's activities for the year. Complete Bullying/Hazing Policy can be read on EHS Website IMMUNIZATION The minimum required immunizations for all children entering Utah Schools include: ♦ 5 doses of DtaP/DTP/DT (4 are acceptable if the 4th dose is given after the 4th birthday) ♦ 3 DT required if started after age 7. ♦ 4 or more doses of Polio vaccine (three are acceptable if the third dose is given after the fourth

birthday) ♦ 2 MMR vaccines (1 MMR and 1 Measles vaccine is acceptable). The first dose of Measles/MMR

must be given on or after the first birthday; a third dose is required if the first dose is given before the first birthday

♦ 3 doses of Hepatitis B vaccine for Kindergarten or first graders as of July 1, 1999) ♦ 1 dose Varicella (Chicken Pox) ♦ 2 doses Hepatitis A As documented proof is needed, a student may not enter school without a certificate of immunization. Acceptable evidence of immunization is a certificate of record signed by the health care provider where vaccinations were administered. All schools are required to keep on file a completed "Utah School Immunization Record" (USIR) for each student. *Beginning with the 2006-2007 School year, in order to attend 7th grade, a student must have proof of receiving the following immunizations which have already been completed: * 3 Hepatitis B *1 Tetanus/Diphtheria (Td) Booster

* 1 Varicella (chicken pox) Previous History of chicken pox is OK; Parent must sign verification statement on immunization record. If student is already 13 years old, 2 doses are required. The School District is in line with the State Law. Students will not be enrolled if they do not have the correct immunization requirements. WCSD is subject to a $5,000 fine for every student who is not in compliance.

LOCKER SEARCHES A hall locker with a combination lock will be assigned to each student at the time of registration. Only school issued locks are permissible on lockers. Locks should not be brought from home. Money or items of considerable value should not be stored in lockers. The locker remains the property of E.H.S. and is subject to search by the school administration during emergencies or with probable cause based on information received or actions observed. The school will not be responsible for theft from a locker.

Page 17: Copy EHS student handbook 2019-2020 · Enterprise High School (EHS) is committed to work in harmony with parents to encourage the regular attendance of all students. Student learning/achievement

17

Lockers are to be kept clean and damage free or the student will clean his/her locker and pay damage costs. LEAVING CAMPUS DURING SCHOOL HOURS Any student needing to leave Enterprise High School during school hours must have their parents call in and excuse them, and then they must check out through the office. Any student failing to do so is considered truant. If returning, the student must check in through the office. If a student finds it necessary to leave any time during the school day, or if he leaves during the lunch hour with the intention of not returning in the afternoon, he/she must first clear it with the office. Anyone leaving their designated area without complying with this procedure will be considered truant. 18 YEAR OLD STUDENTS There is an increasing number of students who turn 18 and want to assert their rights as adults to take full responsibility for their education and leave their parents in the dark. Under federal law, if a student is still dependent upon a parent for support, the parent has a right of access to the student's records. The same law does not necessarily apply to writing excuses for students, participation in disciplinary hearings, or checking students out of school. Some 18 year old students are saying that they will do that on their own and the parents are not to be notified. It is true that they are adults and it is true that as a result they can have much greater autonomy then they otherwise would. However, they do not have a right to choose the place where they will attend school. At Enterprise High school all students attending the regular high school regardless of age are subject to the same rules. An 18 year old would, therefore, be required to have the same parent permission and the same parent involvement as a 17 year old. An 18 year old who did not wish to conform to the rule could be informed that if he or she wants to be treated like an adult then the school assignment would be to the adult high school (Dixie College) and not the regular high school. LIBRARY Students are not to use the exit door in the library loft without permission. Also, they are only to be in the loft area or Ed-Net room when given permission. Proper manners are expected of those using the library. Students should be aware that. 1. Use of the computers in the library is limited to those students who have been given permission by

the media director or designee. 2. Checkouts are to be made before books, magazines, or equipment are taken from the library. 3. Food and drink are not to be consumed in the library. 4. Sitting on the library tables is not permitted. 5. Students using the library supplies e.g. scissors, tape, markers, crayons are expected to return

supplies and clean up working area. LUNCH ROOM Proper manners are expected of those eating in the lunch area. Students should be aware that: 1. Any student cutting the lunch line will be sent to the back of the line. 2. Any food spilled on purpose will be cleaned up by the individual(s) who spilled it. 3. Students caught leaving trays, trash, etc. on tables will clean up what they have left and any other

part of the lunch area they might be assigned. 4. Throwing of food such as peas, grapes, etc. is strictly forbidden and could bring a heavy penalty to

the offending student(s). 5. Lunch items served by school food service are to be eaten in the commons area and not taken

outside or down the halls.

18

6. The school lunch program is to be operated on a cash basis. Therefore, employees and students shall not charge their lunches. If there are extenuating circumstances, students should consult with the principal's office.

LUNCH PERIOD High School students may leave campus for the lunch period, but are expected to be back to class on time. Students who remain on campus are expected to exhibit good behavior. There will be no throwing of food, rough-housing in the building, fighting, or any other disruptive activity. Students are not to be upstairs or in the hallway of the new addition until the first bell rings for afternoon classes. After finishing their lunch students should clear all paper, food, trays, etc. from tables. 7th and 8th grade students should remain on campus during lunch time unless they are picked up by a parent. MAKE-UP WORK Students should make up any missing work within 2 class periods of the absence free of penalty. It is expected that a student will ask for the work upon return to school. It is also expected that a student will arrange with teachers for assignments/work prior to an expected or upcoming absence from school. Consult each teacher’s disclosure statement for make-up work procedures. NOTICE OF NON-DISCRIMINATION "Washington County School District does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability in admission or access to, or treatment or employment in its educational programs or activities. Inquiries concerning Title VI, Title IX, and Section 504 may be referred to Mr. Richard Holmes, Assistant Superintendent of Schools, Washington County School District, 189 West Tabernacle Street, St. George, Utah, 84770 (435) 673-3553 or the Office for Civil Rights, U.S. Department of Education, 1961 Stout Street, Denver, Colorado, 80294." PORNOGRAPHY/VULGARITY Magazines, books, writing and tapes that are offensive and depict sex, etc., in a vulgar way are not to be brought to school. Violators will be subject to suspension and/or law enforcement action. This includes materials obtained/distributed electronically (phones, iPods, etc.) REPORT CARDS Report cards will be issued following the end of each term. It is the responsibility of each student to ensure that the card is delivered to the parent(s) or guardian(s). At the end of each grading period, parents will be made aware of their child's status on unpaid fees, fines, etc.

SAFE SCHOOL POLICY The Board of Education of the Washington County School District recognizes that every student in school should have the opportunity to learn in an environment that is safe, conducive to the learning process, and free from unnecessary disruption. To foster such an environment the following policy has been adopted and is based on the following principles:

1. Each student is expected to follow accepted rules of conduct; 2. Each student is expected to show respect for other people and obey persons in authority

at the school; 3. The policy applies to students while in the classroom, on school grounds, while riding in

school vehicles, and in school-related activities or events.

Suspension is not to be understood as the deprivation of a right to learning, but as the temporary denial of social interaction through school contact and the removal of the person from the classroom setting because of real and present disruptive effect of his/her presence, or a reasonable assumption that his/her presence will be disruptive or a threat to the well-being or safety of himself/herself and or other students or staff. Suspension may carry with it conditions which must be met to remove the suspension. Such conditions may be a joint responsibility of school personnel, the student and parents, or the sole responsibility of any one party. Suspension is for no more than 10 school days per incident.

Expulsion is defined as the removal from school and the cessation of educational services provided by the Washington County School District for any period longer than 10 consecutive days but not more than 1 school year.

Temporary Disciplinary Transfer (TDT) means a student is temporarily removed from the regular school setting by the school administration to an alternative educational setting because of a violation of the safe school policy. The alternative educational setting should afford the student the opportunity to receive instruction and, where applicable, receive credit for course work in core academic areas. The alternative setting is not intended to replicate the student's current school placement. The parent is responsible for transportation to the alternative educational setting and is responsible for any fees associated with the program, unless such fees have been waived. For students with disabilities the procedures for change of placement under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) apply.

3. Vehicles: School officials have the right and the duty to inspect any vehicle parked on the parking lot of their school. If an official has reasonable cause to believe that the contents threaten to affect adversely the safety, health or welfare of students, or if they reasonably suspect drugs, weapons, illegal or prohibited matter or stolen goods, a vehicle may be searched. SEMINARY/RELEASED TIME Students abusing released time will be re-scheduled to regular high school classes. They will be considered truant if they are absent from released time instruction without permission through the front office. SENIOR SUNRISE/SENIOR TRIP Senior Sunrise & Senior Trip are NOT school-sponsored events. Students may not use school property or school funds for such activities. SEXUAL HARRASSMENT Sexual harassment will not be tolerated at Enterprise High School. Sexual harassment is defined as being disturbed persistently by someone because of one's sex. Whether you have a complaint or someone you know is a victim, find out how you can help. Speak with your teacher, counselor or the assistant principal. While people sometimes differ in what they think is harassing or annoying, the government agencies responsible for enforcing laws against sex discrimination agree that certain behavior is unlawful. These behaviors can vary from an intimidating glance to an attempted or actual physical assault. Such behavior includes unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature, when: a) submission to such conduct is used as the basis for education decisions affecting the individual; or b) such conduct has the purpose or effect of unreasonable interfering with an individual's academic performance or creating an intimidating, hostile, or offensive study environment. Reporting Sexual Harassment If a student believes he/she is subject to harassment, the student should first consider telling the person that they do not like what is happening, that they consider it a violation of the School District policy on harassment, and that they want it stopped. In many cases, a clear statement that the student wants something stopped will be enough to take care of the situation. Students are not required, however, to confront the person in this way. The student has the right and is encouraged to report the problem immediately to the principal (or principal's designee, if assigned and identified by the principal) at their school. Students should not feel embarrassed, intimidated, or reluctant to file a valid harassment report. Students are encouraged to contact any Teacher, Coach, Secretary, or Administrator at EHS with complaints of sexual harassment. Complete sexual harassment policy can be read on EHS Website SKATEBOARDS/ROLLERBLADES/SCOOTERS The use of skateboards, roller blades, roller skates are not allowed on Washington County School District property without permission from school administration. Individuals may be cited for trespassing for riding skateboards or roller blades on school district property without administrative approval. STUDENT CONDUCT Students are expected to behave in a manner that will be a credit to themselves and to the school, whether at school or at school-sponsored activities; they should be decent in the way they dress, the kind of reading material they bring to school, the kind of language they use, and the way they behave towards the opposite sex while at school. They should be polite to other students and staff members, and they should be honorable and honest. Of particular concern is the care of the building. Enterprise High School staff members are asked to help students behave properly, and students are subject to the authority of all staff members - administrators, teachers, and other workers while at school or school activities. STUDENT CONDUCT IN THE CLASSROOM Students are responsible for contributing positively to the learning in the classroom. If behavior becomes disruptive to the class, the following steps will be taken. 1. The teacher will try to solve the problem with the student, using any or all of the following: Student conferences, parent contact, referral to the counselor, sending a success notice to parents. 2. After such efforts have been made, if the teacher and the student cannot arrive at a satisfactory solution to the problem, the teacher will refer the student to the principal. Parents will be contacted and a parent conference will be scheduled. The student may not return to class until the conference is held. If an agreement can be reached, the student will return to class, with the understanding that if he/she is referred once again for disrupting class, he/she may be taken out of the class and may receive no credit for the quarter in that class. If the problem continues, the student may be referred to Millcreek High School. STUDENT COUNCIL The student council consists of: 1. Elected student body officers 2. Elected class presidents from each of the grades (7th - 12th) 3. Elected organization and club presidents 4. The student council will act as a representative body, for and in behalf of all students at E.H.S. They will be responsible for planning student activities, dealing with student problems, and building school spirit. SUSPENSION A student may be suspended from school when the principal or acting principal believes such action is necessary and in the best interest of the student and/or the school. The student will not be counted absent, and may make up any work missed in accordance with the teacher’s disclosure statement. Participation in school activities will not be allowed for those on Out-Of-School suspension. TEN DAY RULE As per state law, any student who does not attend school for ten consecutive days, without legitimate excuse, will be dropped from our rolls and referred to juvenile court. Parents will also be referred to DCFS for educational neglect. TEXTBOOKS Textbooks are rented to the students by the School District. Once a book is assigned to a student it becomes his/her responsibility to care for it. Lost or damaged books must be paid for by the student if he/she loses or damages them.

A referral will be made to the Juvenile Court or City Court for appropriate legal action. The principal, upon receiving a report from an educator, shall immediately report that to the student's parent or legal guardian. The principal may not disclose to the student or to the student's parent or legal guardian the identity of the educator who made the initial report. MANDATORY SCHOOL REPORTING OF DRUG USE In compliance with the Utah Code Sections 53-22b-1 and 22b-2, whenever an educator in a school has reasonable cause to believe that a student on or adjacent to a school campus or attending or participating in any school activity or being transported or in any way directed by school personnel has consumed or has possession of any alcoholic beverage, controlled substances, or drug paraphernalia, he/she shall immediately report that to the school principal. This also applies to any adult covered under this code. Utah Code Sec. 52-22b-4 provides that an educator who, in good faith, makes a report under this Chapter is immune from liability, civil or criminal, that might otherwise result from that action. TRAVELING TO SCHOOL ACTIVITIES See Activity Participation VISITORS 1. Parents are welcome at Enterprise High School. We ask that an appointment be made to see a
