How can sports promote a healthy lifestyle?
How do teachers engage students in practicing sports?
Focus:
It is important for students to be aware that through exercise students can have a healthy lifestyle.
Objectives:
At the end of the unit, students will be able to express their opinions about the importance of sports, in order to have a
healthy lifestyle using a poster.
Specific objectives:
- Follow instructions about sports. - Write sentences about different sports using a mind-map. - Use new vocabulary to express their preferences about sports.
- Express their routines about physical activities they like to do using the present simple.
- Describe events using the present simple.
- Value the physical activity as a good way to be healthy and to develop responsibility and
discipline.
Materials:
markers, video, worksheet, colors, multimedia,accessories ( racquets,balloon,ball), video, projector, slides, quizlet, word
cards, handout with explanation and practice, charade cards, , handout with a mind-map. posters and flashcards.
Learning Activities
Watching a video, brainstorming, choral repetition, TPR activity, organizing information, Work in pairs, playing charades, mind-mapping, watching a poster about sports, answering questions about it.
Discussion Questions:
What kind of sports do you like?, What sports do you practice? What equipment do you use for each sport?
Instruction:
