But first Bye Bye Webex? Not yet
confidential
Webex license will not be renewed by imecNext conf call October 13 via M$Office Lync I will plan some tests times beforehand
not working well... using webex as long as possible – till now still operational
Sorry Jerome...

EUPVSEC 2014Valerie and Christos were there

About the talk we gave on PNV (Only 12 min, sorry but I had to drop content ) Positive feedback But no big discussion
Our general impression Nanophotonics is still there but interest is not taking off
Many contributions, 1 dedicated parallel event... But no industry around Issue: random pyramids are already doing a great jobNeed to combine light trapping with another function
Thin-film c-Si not at its highest (rumor: Solexel to stop epi) But poly-Si is still there (record Voc > 650 mV at HZB) Other thin film competitions at high eff. (e.g. CIGS, perovskites)

EUPVSEC 2014Light-trapping in competition
About modeling? Plasmonics for PV keep declining, e.g. Schuster poster (Univ. York) Nanopyramids rock: @SERIS people agree with us Going above Lambertian is only interesting for very thin films (Catchpole, ANU) Good modeling of light trapping and randomness at Karlsruhe IT (C. Rockstuhl)
About samples? Large variety of approaches, many groups working on it. Mainly optical
demonstrators and passivating possibilities (e.g 2AV.2.34).
About solar cells? (next to us) @HZB black silicon Problems to integrate, worst results than reference @TUDelft same as above @ISE/nines-PV 0.1% higher efficiency than reference

Light-trapping in competitionWhat about the future?
About solar cells, keep an eye on: @ Fraunhofer ISE! Solar cells to come?
Back grating inside a-Si:H layer (avoid passivation issue)TiO2 nanoparticles to be integrated into tunnel-oxide high-efficiency cell
@AMOLF/ECN: Mie resonators at front sideBut they benchmark to flat cells...
And us... we have potential!

Your preparation
confidential
Follow the WP leaders requests Make slides on your results + a personal conclusion slide, for each WP you are involved in If you need: bring up table-topic
For members of steering committee: Put on the agenda topics you want to discuss (email of Valerie will follow shortly for this)

Focus for each WP
confidential
WP1 - Evaluate the records Jsc that can be obtained with nanopatterns + identify optima for HCL
How high? What is needed to go high? Decide what structure to focus on for cost
Find out what works best with HCL
WP2 - Get best patterns possible with wet etching Periodic: new NIL stamps Non-periodic: improve fill factor ... on all materials to be used for cells still need...
epifoils front-side tests and PECVD wet etching improvement
WP3 - Prepare for making higher efficiency cells in October Think what process changes will be needed
WP4 - Prepare data for model
