REMARKABLE FROZEN MEALS

Our founding principle in 1997:

To COOK using the sameingredients and techniques youwould at home so everythinglooks and tastes homemade.

Today, nothing’s changed(except we’re a bit better at it).

MAKING LIFE EASIER

We believe eating and cooking are two of life’s greatpleasures. If cooking becomes a chore or eating ceasesto be pleasurable, then our lives are poorer. We cook,so you don’t have to - enabling you to keep yourpowder dry for the occasions when you’re in the moodto cook up a storm. And because we cook in exactlythe same way you would at home you can beconfident our dishes will look and tastehomemade, and should always be a pleasureto eat. Importantly, on the front of everypack we print the name of the chefwho prepared your meal.

Menu KeyYou will see these symbols next to our food.

This is what they mean. How spicy is this dish?

1 chilli - warm me up

2 chillies - nice and spicy

Gluten FreeGF

Very occasionally we might have to change prices, ingredients or symbols before our next editionof The COOK Book for which we apologise. But all prices, ingredients and symbols were correctat time of going to print. Please refer to the packaging for the most up-to-date information.

Suitable for vegetarians.

All meals can be reheated in aconventional oven, but those with thissymbol can also be cooked in themicrowave.

Not available for home delivery.

Edward and Dale (Founders)

WELCOME TO OUR WINTER COOK BOOKYou might notice as you flick through that the pages to the rear

of the book are upside down. This isn’t a mistake and nor do

we expect you to stand on your head to read it. Rather, we’ve

created two covers and two sections, one for Everyday and one

for Entertaining. We hope this makes it a bit easier for you to

choose your meals depending on the occasion.

In the middle is a new section For Special Nights In. So, dim

the lights, pop some Barry White on the ipod and get your best

bib and tucker on. Alternatively, get the kids to bed early, fire

up the DVD and settle into the sofa. However you choose to

make your night in special, these new dishes are the perfect

accompaniment (and the best food we’ve ever made).

Although we are now in our 14th year (no teenage angst yet),

we are always trying to improve what we do, so do get in touch

with any suggestions at [email protected].

Catering for a drinks party is

always tricky. Some food is

expected, but how much?

Enough to soak up whatever

drinks you happen to be

serving, but not so much that

mountains of leftovers remain.

Because you can cook our

canapés from frozen, you can

always buy more than you

think you’ll need and keep the

extra in the freezer just in case.

Problem solved.

When you find yourself having

to cook for lots of people,

a big pot of a bubbling,

sweet-scented stew is perfect.

Bowl food is the trendy name

for it – because you can eat it

from a bowl while standing up.

More likely you’ll perch on a

chair, a window sill or someone

else’s lap, but you get the idea.

A decent size oven will just

about fit four of our large

meals. Beyond 16 people, it

may be simpler to resort to a

(very) large pot on the hob.

Let the meals defrost first,

decant into the pot, and warm

thoroughly over a moderate

heat, stirring regularly. This is

likely to take between 20 and

30 minutes but make sure the

food is piping hot before

serving. With some rustic

potato wedges on the side, it

makes feeding the masses

surprisingly manageable.

Entertaining should be fun. So why is it often

so stressful? At COOK, we aim to decrease

your stress levels and increase your enjoyment by

giving you time to relax before your guests arrive,

then time to enjoy their company rather than be

chained to the kitchen. We can do as little or as much

as you like, and because our food looks and tastes

homemade no one will know you haven’t made it

yourself. So whether you are catering for a couple of

close friends, a dinner for eight or a party for twenty

or more, let us do the cooking so you can concentrate

on enjoying yourself. It seems a fair swap.
