Many artists such as Da Vinci, would “steal” human cadavers from the local morgue.
Artists stole bodies because it was illegal at the time to conduct studies on human remains.

Combining Controversies
Michelangelo Sistine Chapel. The ceiling and the altar appear normal, but some theorists believe that there are hidden messages in the work. Hidden anatomy in the images of
the ceilling Christ is depicted not only nude
but with out a beard (this was a big deal at the time). Altar piece.
The gate to Hell is where the Pope would stand during mass.

Why would Michelangelo hide messages in his works of art?
Is there a link between these pieces to the life and society at the times?
Are the messages really there or a conspiracy?
How does this relate to art/media today?

What new controversies have risen since the Renaissance in art?
How is the Body World/Works exhibit comparable to the art of the Renaissance?
Is this science or art?
Does this place a whole new meaning on art and the use of human bodies?
