CONTRIBUTING TO THE LIFE OF LEARNERS, THE SCHOOL COMMUNITY, AND THE DISTRICT
letter
“Mme Rainville has been actively involved in most facets of our school life for many years and her multiple contributions have had a strong impact on our student's learning and well being as well as on the whole of our school community. ... We are quite fortunate to have the opportunity of working with Mme Rainville, benefiting from her creative skills, her positive energy and her desire to make our school a strong learning environment …”

• Here are five of the ten murals I planned, organised and facilitated for each of the grades at École Au Coeur de l’île in the Comox Valley.• Every student in the school was given the opportunity to express themselves creatively.• Great care was taken to select the right medium and materials that would suit the age and ability of the students in class. • Careful planning was required as to not take more than necessary the allocated time, and to be respectful of the teachers by not detracting from class time.

For the past 6 years our school has put on annual art shows…though we settled on painting as the theme for this years art show, we were challenged with the idea of how to begin. Teresa..was able to bring it all together very quickly. ..Teresa designed a time line for us starting with cave paintings up to present day graffiti art. Teresa’s knowledge of artists, and their style of painting has helped us plan what each class will be doing. She has now given each class a famous artist to learn about, and discover what their style of painting technique is like. Teresa very willingly has committed herself to helping …she has set up days to come in and work with each class over the next 2 months. .. instructing over 400 students from 22 divisions.

DESIGN COHERENT INSTRUCTION USING APPROPRIATE RESOURCES
Teresa…planned and taught the mural project to the Up With People cultural exchange students
and the military youth of 19 Wing Comox. This activity allowed the youth to learn how to share ideas and
work together co-operatively. There was considerable pre-
planning and effective people and time management involved
on the part of Ms. Renaud-Rainville, to be able to produce and complete such a dynamic project
within the limited time frame and large number of vibrant youth.
