Founded in 1958 to provide educational opportunities for the scientist and engineers at the Kennedy Space Center.

School of Extended Graduate Studies
Since 1972 Florida Tech’s School of Extended Graduate Studies (SEGS) has been providing off campus graduate programs in Management and Engineering
Currently we offer 33 different graduate degree programs and 11 graduate certificate programs
Over 2,000 students enrolled in SP 2005 Our graduate centers are located in 5
different states

SEGS – Acquisition and Contracts Programs
We have offered graduate contract and acquisition management degree programs since 1973.
Currently we have 273 students enrolled in our contract and acquisition programs
Approximately 3,000 students have graduated from our contract and acquisition programs (roughly 20% of all SEGS alumni)

Professional Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Acquisition and Contract Management
MS in Management with a concentration in Acquisition and Contract Management
MS in Materiel Acquisition Management Graduate Certificate in Contract Management
Note: All contracting and acquisition programs are available online, and they are only available online to students in Brevard County

SEGS Relationship with Defense Acquisition University (DAU)
Transferability of courses between SEGS and DAU e.g., DAU course CON 104 Contract Pricing will transfer into a
SEGS program as MGT 4213 Contract Pricing (a 2 hour upper division undergraduate course)
SEGS graduate courses MGT 5214 Cost Principles, Effectiveness, and Control and MGT 5218 Contract Negotiations and Incentive Contracts together cover the topics in the DAU course CON 104 and can be considered as equivalent for career education purposes
We maintain a Registry of Approved Military Courses (RAMC) for transfer of service school courses into SEGS programs. Currently there are 26 courses on the RAMC
SEGS Relationship with Defense Acquisition University (DAU)
Ongoing revision of the DAU contracting courses (every few years)
Each revision by DAU requires SEGS to reevaluate the transferability of the new DAU courses into SEGS programs
Also after each revision DAU reviews SEGS courses to determine which ones are equivalent to the new DAU courses

Graduate Certificate Programs – MOU between Florida Tech and DAU
Depending on career field, level of certification and specific certificate program being sought a member of the Defense Acquisition, Technology and Logistics workforce can receive 3 or 6 semester hours of graduate credit toward a graduate certificate.
The Graduate Certificate in Contracts is a 5 course (15 semester hour) program
