A Coastal Flood Advisory is in effect for Beaufort, Pamlico, S. Craven and E. Carteret counties. The advisory for Tyrrell expires at 8 AM this morning. High astronomical tides will bring the threat for minor to moderate coastal flooding around the time of each high tide this weekend into early next week. Stronger winds through the weekend could bring more extensive coastal flooding impacts, especially for oceanside areas north of Cape Hatteras. Strong, long period swell from distant Hurricane Teddy will arrive this weekend, bringing an increased potential for signficiant beach erosion and dune overwashing. • This is expected to be a long

duration event through multiple

tide cycles through the weekend.

• At high tide, significant ocean over

possibly being impacted.

• Beach erosion is also likely with 7 to

12 foot waves.

• Low lying areas adjacent to the

Neuse River, southern Pamlico

Sound, sound-side Ocracoke Island,

normally dry ground.

• Water levels and tides will be
