Iwaki’s major annual mid-summer event, the Iwaki Odori, is only one month away. This year, the IIA will join the “Hula Oji-san and Friends Team” as they did last year. There will be time to practice the dance before the event so no need to worry if it’s your first time. Further details will be sent to those who have applied for the event. Exploration Tour around Town Date: Saturday 9 September Contents: Have you ever heard of the “Yabusame” ceremony? For this event, we will go exploring around Iwaki’s city centre and watch this traditional ceremony all while wearing kimonos. IIA Japanese Language Classes The Spring & Summer Term of the IIA’s Japanese Language Classes is still underway. However we would like to inform you that the Autumn & Winter Term will start from 27 September (Wed) with the level check test to be conducted on 13 September (Wed). Don’t forget to apply if you would like to take part in the classes.

The JLPT is just around the corner with the test to be held on 2 July.
