Separated into 4 sections – News, Neu, Features and Reviews

One main font

5 small, square images rather than one main image

‘Contents’ and Features section in left third

Credits information in right hand third

Majority of images/text in centre third

Images of main articles – page number placed on top of image

Page number in bottom left hand corner

Two text colours – red and black

No colour scheme with regards to photographs – some very bright, others quite muted

‘Contents’ page header very unconventional – reads vertically downwards rather than left to right

Quite a lot of white space, particularly in the top horizontal third

Fits with the house style of being generally minimalist, but having a range of colours and a more unorthodox layout than other magazines of the same genre

LOUD AND QUIET

No main images – unconventional

Two colours – Section headers in navy blue, all other text in black

Two sections – CONENTS and WELCOME

Only image is a small copy of cover

Arranged into two main columns, all text aligned left

4 columns, all text aligned left. Very uniform

Lots of white space

Page number at the bottom, centre third

Some underlining of bottom section subtitles

Article headlines in capitals for emphasis

Paragraphs separated by indent rather than full line, creates a block effect

Both main columns same size as each other. Very pleasing to the eye

Only one font is used throughout this page. However, the variation in size, colour and capitalisation prevents each part of text from being indistinguishable from each other and prevents the text from appearing blocky

Very unconventional style – appeals to target audience
