Dear Readers,

It is immense pleasure to present the third issue of E-bulletin March 2015 of IMRD. As we all know, a newsletter mirrors an Institute-its vision and mission.

It also highlights events, activities and academic prowess and achievements. In this Edition I have tried to capture last month excitement activities.

I do hope that the newsletter encourages to the students to express their creativity.

“Gandhi Vichar Sanskar Pariksha” 2014-15

Gandhi Research Foundation, Jalgaon conducted “Gandhi Vichar Sanskar Pariksha” 2014-15. This exam was organized by State Government of Maharashtra for all States like Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh etc. Total 2,02,000 students of Secondary Schools, Higher Secondary Schools, Jr. Colleges, Sr. Colleges, D.Ed and B.Ed colleges was participated in the exam.

The objective behind this test was to inculcate the Gandhian thoughts and philosophy among the students. Total 245 students of IMRD from BBM, MCA and MBM department appeared for this exam.

Student of IMRD Ms. Pooja D. Jadhav (BBM 2nd year) and Ms. Manisha D. Patil (MBM 2nd year) secured 1st Rank in UG & PG category and rewarded with gold medals in Gandhi Vichar Sanskar Pariksha. The Director of IMRD Mrs. Vaishali Patil and whole IMRD family

congratulated to the winners.

Workshop on “Personality Development”

“Personality Development“ workshop was

organized for the girl students by H. R. Patel Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research on 13th March , 2015 at Shirpur. From IMRD total 11 girl students of (BCA 2nd year and MBM 1st year) attended the workshop. The main objective of this workshop was to develop overall personality of the girl students so that they can successfully face challenges of life. The various sessions were conducted in this workshop such as Body language, recognizing self worth, How to make a resume? How to face an interview? etc. All the participants of workshop were rewarded with the certificates.

One Day Review Workshop on “Project Development Life Cycle”

IMRD has started internship program for the current batch of MCA students. Two days workshop was organized earlier on “Project

Development Life Cycle” as on 17th

and 18th

January , 2015. The resource person for this event was Mr. Unni Krishnan.

For the review of the work of Project Development we have once again invited Mr.

Unni Krishnan on 11th

March , 2015.

Mr. Unni Krishnan guided students and faculties (Internal Guide of projects) on the next phases and review the earlier work of Project Development.

Currently 12 students are working on project development and following 5 projects are assigned to them.

“Payroll Management System” for the textile industry “ Yogi Cottex Private Limited, Shirpur”.

“Customer Portal” for The Shirpur People’s Cooperative Bank, Shirpur.

“Employee Portal” for The Shirpur People’s Cooperative Bank, Shirpur.

“Trade-Soft System”, Shirpur

“Patient Monitoring System” for “Seva Hospital”, Shirpur.

The objective of this workshop was that everyone in the team understands the scope of the project and agrees upon exactly how the project's goals will be achieved?

Through this kind of workshop students get an idea about software requirement analysis, documentation of project development, and how to finalize scope of project?

The Director of IMRD Mrs. Vaishali Patil, Assistant Director Mr. Manoj Behere, HOD of MBM Department Mr. Manoj Patel, Internal project guides Mr. Swapnil Goje, Mr. Vishal Pawar, Mr. Amit Patil, Mr. Manoj Sonwane, Mr. Narendra Rajput, Mrs. Chhaya Patil, Mrs. Vijaya Ahire, Mrs. Archana Jade and MCA intern students attended the workshop.

Mr. Unni Krishnan met all internal project guides to discuss the co-ordination of the project. He reviewed all the above project status and work done on it.

Mr. Unni Krishnan discussed with the students one by one about the project requirement gathering, scope of the project and documentations.

He talked about project scope which is the part of project planning which involves determining and documenting a list of specific project goals, deliverables, tasks and deadlines.

“Srujan” PPT Presentation Competition

“Srujan” (PPT Presentation Competition on Environmental science) was organized on 14th March , 2015 for the 1st year students of (BBA, BCA, and BBM).

The moto behind this competition was to improve student’s communication and presentation skills. These young pupils should understand the importance of environment and the need for sustainability.

Total 49 groups participated from 1st year (BBA, BCA, and BBM) and gave presentation on topic as below: Water Pollution, Air pollution, Acid Rain, Solid waste, Deforestation, Biodiversity, Natural Disaster, Save Water, Save Trees, Global Warming, etc.

Students pass the message of “Save the environment” via this competition. It is a survival truth individuals, organizations and governments need to come together and join hands to protect what is left of our planet so that the future is not wiped out before it’s time for curtain call.

Among 49 groups 3 groups from each class who

ranks in the competition were declared as a winner.

Seminar on Dot Net Institute of Management Research and Development, Shirpur organized seminar on Dot net. For this seminar we had invited Mr. Manoj Patil. The main objective behind this seminar is to understand dot net framework structure and dot net application. Mr. Manoj Patil explained the dot net framework which includes a large class library named Framework Class Library (FCL) and provides language interoperability across several programming languages. Programs written for Dot NET Framework execute in a software environmentnamed Common Language Runtime (CLR).He also talked about various application developed using dot net

platforms.

Workshop on “Interview Techniques”

Workshop on “Interview Techniques” was organized for the students of MCA and MBM by IMRD on 18th March, 2015 at 2.30 p.m.

Mr. Kishor Sonwane from Surat was invited as a resource person for this workshop. He runs his own academy of spoken English from last 10 year under the name “Saraswat English Academy” at Surat(Gujrath).

He has also conducted number of training sessions at corporate sector and educational institutions. The HOD of MBM department Mr. Manoj Patel welcome and felicitated Mr. Kishor Sonwane by presenting a bouquet and book. In this workshop Mr. Kishor guided students about interview process and techniques. Some of the guidelines given by him are as follows.

1. Students should know about their

Strength, Weakness, Opportunities and

Threats (SWOT).

2. Students should have to gather all the

needed information about the

organization where they are going for

interview.

3. Students should imagine what sort of

questions would be asking in interview

and prepare accordingly. 4. Wear formal dress.

5. They should reach to interview hall

before 10 min of actual interview time. 6. Appear for Mock interview sessions.

7. Keep testimonials and certificates while

going for interview. 8. Study your resume.

9. Breathe normally and do not fear at the

time of interview.

10. Student should give positive and confidant image about himself.

11. Study non verbal communication.

12. Proper thanks giving at the end of interview etc. After giving the interview tips Mr. Kishor

conducted interview sessions, where

students of MCA Mr. Sagar Patil and Ms.

Harshita Choudhari participated.

The objective behind conducting such kind of workshop was to train students for interview process. Students should know How to crack the interview?

The anchoring of workshop was done by Mr. Dinesh Borse. All faculties from IMRD were given their presence to make this event successful.

Workshop on “NWAC-2015 “

National Workshop on Advance computing was organized by School of Computer Sciences, North

Maharashtra University, Jalgaon from 1st

to 3rd

March, 2015.

The resource person for this workshop was Prof. Ramesh Kumar Agrawal, M.Tech. (CS), IIT Delhi, Ph.D. (Delhi University), School of Computer & Systems Sciences Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.

The workshop introduced fundamental concepts, theories, and algorithms for pattern recognition and machine learning, which are used in computer vision, speech recognition, data mining, statistics, information retrieval, and bioinformatics. This workshop focused on Matlabs and Data Mining.

The workshop was divided in different sessions where Mr. R. K. Agrawal delivered knowledge on following topics.

1. Classification Techniques based on Neural Network 2. Implementation of Neural Networks in Matlab 3. K-Nearest Neighbour & Support Vector Machine

4. Implementation of K-Nearest Neighbour & Support

Special Achievements

“National Seminar on NLP-IP 2015”

National Seminar on Natural Language Processing and Image Processing (NLP-IP 2015) was Organized By: School of Computer Sciences, North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon on 14

th &

15th

March, 2015.

The aim of this seminar was to provide a platform for the researchers working in the area of NLP and IP to listen to the eminent experts in the field as well as exhibit and share their ideas and research work.

In this seminar Director of IMRD Mrs. Vaishali Patil, faculties of MCA department Mrs. Chhaya Patil and Mr. Amit Patil were participated and represented research work in progress in the form of a Poster.

Director of IMRD Mrs. Vaishali Patil and Mrs. Chhaya Patil represented a poster on “Development of Ahirani Isolated Words Speech Database for Agriculture Purpose”.

Mr. Amit Patil represented a poster on “Review on Word Sense Disambiguation”.

All the research posters were appreciated and participants were rewarded with participation certificates .
