Researching genre

My chosen genre is contemporary indie thrash

I have chosen 3 bands, Peace, Swim Deep and Palma violets. As they have a unique sound which is becoming frequently more popular, influenced by 90s indie grunge bands like nirvana with a hint of almost Madonna like pop.

Not only do they have a unique sound they have a unique look, different to that of ‘rock bands’ . As they are all 4 piece bands it is easy to compare the 3 different images.

All 3 bands appear to be unstaged and very natural looking in there pictures, which are not taken behind a white screen but in very casual settings .

They all appear happy unlike other typical ‘indie’ bands pictures, they are unconventionally attractive and wear authentic rock clothes with a modern twist

All 3 band logos are very prominent and eye catching, the first two using bold colours to stand out , he third ‘Palma Violets’ has a more monochrome theme but still stands out because of the rotation of the text.
