Mobile devices are becoming more power hungry as consumers continue to demand increased processing capability and seamless connectivity in shrinking form factors. Issues such as shortened battery life, glitches and overheating often result from these increased system demands and negatively impact consumers’ experiences. Intersil helps OEMs to address these issues head on with the ISL911xx switching regulators by improving the system performance and power effi ciency of their devices.

Intersil’s ISL911xx buck-boost switching regulators are used in mobile devices to supply the system power management IC (PMIC), the Wi-Fi or radio frequency (RF) power amplifi er, as well as other system peripherals such as the camera and memory interfaces. The ISL911xx family is based on proprietary, fully synchronous four-switch architecture. This advanced architecture enables the seamless transition from buck to boost, delivery of up to 2.5A output current at the lowest single-cell Li battery voltages to signifi cantly improve power effi ciency, increase battery life and prevent overheating of mobile devices.

It delivers guaranteed continuous 250mA load current and is stable with 1µF to 4.7µF of output capacitance (±30%) with an ESR range of 5mΩ to 400mΩ.

The input voltage range for the ISL9021A is between 1.5V to 5.5V and the output voltage comes in many fi xed voltage options with ±1.8% accuracy over-temperature, line and load ranges. The ISL9021A has typical PSRR of 75dB @ 10kHz and 50dB @ 1MHz.
