GUIDELINES FOR UTILITY DIVERSIONGUIDELINES FOR UTILITY DIVERSION• The details of various utilities have been collected from concerned organizations.

GUIDLINES FOR UTILITY DIVERSION

• Utility services have to be kept operational during the entire construction periodUtility services have to be kept operational during the entire construction period and after completion of the project.

• The elevated proposal does not pose much of a difficulty in negotiating the u/g utility services, especially those running accros the alignment. The utilities infringing at Pier location can be easility diverted away from the pipe cap location.

• In case major utility is nunning along / across the alignement which cannot be• In case major utility is nunning along / across the alignement which cannot be diverted or the diversion of which is difficult, time consuming and uneconomical the spanning arrangement of the viaduct and layout of piles in the foundation will be suitably adjusted.

• For u/g section by cut & cover, the utilities are proposed to be maintained temporarilty by replacing with CI/steel pipes and supporting them during const.

CONCEPT

ROAD TRAFFIC DIVERSIONS CONCEPT

The Corridor is planned to be constructed largely within the Railway p g y yBoundary

Preliminary traffic analysis has been done and conceptual traffic Preliminary traffic analysis has been done and conceptual traffic diversion plans have been proposed – to give confidence that the proposal is doable

Traffic flow, Road Width, Pedestrian Flow, Traffic Management measures may be different at the time of implementation and the detailing will need to be done at the time of Detailed Project Report/detailing will need to be done at the time of Detailed Project Report/ Implementation

P d C id li t d t ti th d l / Proposed Corridor alignment and construction methodology/ sequence has been planned with a view to minimize affecting existing structures and disrupting the traffic flow in the vicinity.

Page 36: CONSTRUCTION METHODS - VIADUCTindianrailways.gov.in/railwayboard/uploads/directorate/infra/... · CONSTRUCTION METHODS - VIADUCT PROPOSED CONCEPT Special Bridges - Crossing of existing

ROAD TRAFFIC DIVERSIONSCONCEPT

At t i l ti l d / ti ti t R il At certain locations, lands/ properties contiguous to Railway Land are proposed to be acquired for the Project. With this, the need for traffic diversion will not arise

However, at several locations the construction of the proposed Corridor will involve the partial or complete closure of existing roads for varying amounts of time

Capacity of the alternative road networks has been assessed for possible spare capacity to carry the diverted trafficpossible spare capacity to carry the diverted traffic.

Suitable Traffic Circulation Schemes have been suggested so as not to exceed V/C Ratio of 1 on any road with the diverted traffic. y

The bus stops/ IPT stands, if affected by the diversion, have been suitably planned at alternate locations

TYPICAL CONSTRUCTION SEQUENCE AND TRAFFIC MOVEMENT

ROAD TRAFFIC DIVERSIONSTYPICAL CONSTRUCTION SEQUENCE AND TRAFFIC MOVEMENT

ELEVATED SECTIONS

It is proposed to construct the elevated sections on a combination of monopile and multiple pile foundations. Thi ill i l bl k f i i 5 id t i i f This will involve blockage of a minimum 5 m wide strip in case of monopile and 8 m in case of multiple pile foundations

An extra barricading width of 1.75 m on either side would be desirable gduring night time for movement of equipments within the construction zone, and the same shall be withdrawn during day time to maximize available road widthavailable road width

At station, the total width to be blocked for construction would be about 26 m, to be blocked in one go. However, most of these would be over Railway Land and only block part of the adjacent roads in some casesRailway Land, and only block part of the adjacent roads in some cases.
