• The secret of immortality of our productive culture lies in its religiosity. Religiosity to us implies a total commitment to humanitarian p es a tota co t e t to u a ta avalues. An individual or society or even politics should not afford to be ignorant to such a religiosity. such a religiosity.

• The ponds of this region carry religious, cultural, and social values; they should be maintained and utilized properly to suit the maintained and utilized properly to suit the present demand but not at the cost of future generation.

RECOMMENDATIONSRECOMMENDATIONS• Demarcation of Pond area as per the set criteria.

• Demarcation of Monumental Area and listing of ponds within this area so that special care can be taken to conserve them.p

• Selection of ponds which are to be taken up in a phase wise developmental plan.

• The development of ponds should be taken up with integrated approach incorporating the city infrastructure planningapproach- incorporating the city infrastructure planning.

• Formation of a Task Force in the Leadership of Greater Janakpur Development Council to look after all these issues and coordinate with the Municipality.

ACTION PLANACTION PLAN• The GJDC should recommend to the HMG to form a Task

force to perform the following jobs.►Define boundary/area of the listed ponds as per a set

criteria.criteria.►Transfer of ownership to the Municipality.►Reclaim the encroached lands/ponds.

• The GJDC should immediately enforce the Municipality to act aggressively to stop further encroachment/misuse of theaggressively to stop further encroachment/misuse of the Ponds.
